Asking them about their relationship status lowers your value. You should go about your way and just do you. If she’s not single she’ll bring it up.

Most women will actually stay in a relationship until they find someone else they’re interested in even though they’ve been feeling like that for a while.

When I've been talking with a girl and want to figure out if she's taken or not...I'll usually ask a direct question that will give me what I want, without revealing that's what I'm asking.

What I want to say: Do you have a partner that you are in a committed relationship with?

What I actually say: So, do you have any plans with the husband/boyfriend and kids this weekend?

By doing this, I keep the conversation rolling without making it awkward. She will either reveal she doesn't have a significant other, or will outright tell you their plans. Makes it easy to find out and save face.

Ignore their relationship status (unless you are actively looking for a woman to marry). It's not relevant. And remember that whatever they do tell may or may not be very accurate. As someone else said, asking also lowers your value.

Asking if they have a boyfriend is a really good upfront way of showing you are interested. It also gives them the opportunity to break off the encounter and prevents them using it as a blow off later down the line.

What's the point in spending all night chatting a girl up and leaving her with the easy 'I've got a bf' line?

I don't lol. Idgaf if they're willing to cheat, that's on them. As long as I'm not cool with the dude, I'm good. I usually won't ask relationship status since I don't really care.
