So I've known this girl for YEARS. We first met in middle school and didn't get along. She used to pick on me because of my weight and it really stuck with me. In high school, she was a bit nicer but a LOT hotter. I found her attractive but I was still a bit pissed about our history. She had a secret that only a handful of people knew. She dated a lesbian during high school, despite proclaiming she was straight. All of these things were red flags for any chance of a relationship. I'm a straight guy, by the way. Flash forward to recently, and she sends me a message via social media. Apparently, she's a Christian now. And she's single. We start talking for a bit about high school and other things. She then tells me she had a crush on me in high school. WTF? Seriously? I was shocked. She then asks why I never asked her out. I replied something to the extent of "Well, you used to call me a fat, ugly fuck and that I'm going to be a loner for my whole life." My anger had kicked in. She wrote a whole paragraph about how sorry she was. It was all in the past and she was stupid, immature, etc. "You have every right to be mad at me. I understand if you don't want to talk to me," she said. I didn't reply. It was too late to take back what I said. She knew I was hurt. I knew she was hurt. Was I wrong for bringing up the past? Should I have just left it alone? I don't know what to do now. One thing is for sure, I'm an asshole.
