You’re in luck - studies show that many women prefer men with mysterious or stern faces over guys who look happy and smiley all the time. Maybe make a conscious effort to smile in certain situations like upon meeting and selectively as to let her know that you’re not actually pissed off.

Where I'm from we call this a "Screw Face" which I've had since I was 11 years old. Women go crazy for it for some reason. Think about it guys are always smiling at them and trying to get them to give some type of positive feedback but you're not...They generally get curious as to why? Is he mad at me? What did I do to him? I don't even know him why does he hate me? Does he hate me?

Use it to your advantage bro its a gift! Most guys can't maintain a serious face around women they have a goofy smile on their face all the time. Women like a challenge.

I hear ya. When I'm deep in thought and disconnected with my surroundings my face looks like a stone wall. It may help to change what you're thinking about. Start thinking of things you're grateful for and observing things you enjoy about the area around you. They say the eyes are the window to your soul, so let them see those positive thoughts beaming through. With that in mind, open body language (smiling, not crossing your arms, etc.) will come naturally.

A focused smile at someone you make eye contact with means more than smiling at everyone. Same with smiles at jokes and every other social situation.

I'm from the UK so maybe we don't smile as much all the time but in the USA smiling seems kinda forced for a lot of you

muscle memory. when youve been sitting at home for the past week and you go out, your face is probably not use to smiling. try to force, stretch, and hold your face in a smile for a bit to reacclimate your face to a starting point for a smile

Think happy thoughts. I know it sounds lame but your face is going to show what's going on inside so if you consciously stear your mind towards trains of thought that make you happy or reflect on happy moments your face will shift towards a quietly happy setting.

I had some co-workers tell me that if I'm not smiling I look like I'm getting ready to murder someone, I think for guys like us the only cure is to smile more. whenever I make eye contact with someone I smile because I want people to be comfortable around me.

The sun gets in my eyes all the time, so i have my eyebrows lowered all the time. When i see myself in the mirror i really look angry, or unapproachable. I try to raise my eyebrows a bit, but that feels even more awkward.

I look like a dick if I'm not smiling, or people ask me why I'm pissed, etc. Well, they used to, but now they only do it if I'm actually angry.

I started "priming my face" to smile years ago. If I'm in public, then I'm trying to think about positive things, happy things, sexy things, fun things. I focus on my eye muscles and make sure they're relaxed. I focus on my jaw and relax it a bit so my teeth aren't clenched. I raise my eyebrows a bit and my ears perk. Then I just do my day with that smile primed. Anytime I see a pretty girl, I flash her that smile that's ready for her! It ain't there really yet, but it's a split second away and people know it. They're ready for it, too. Then I think something stupid just as I'm about to smile, usually it's, "GONNA MAKE YA SMILE, BITCH! HAHAAA" And then she smiles back and I laugh in my head about it as I say hi or whatever I wanna say. Puts me into a flirty vibe.

Open up. It’s probably an unconscious emotional state that’s just your baseline. Maybe if you open up and enjoy life you won’t have such a serious face on all the time. But it also might just be your personality.

I'm the same.... I was actually looking for ways to not be as serious looking as I am, but as a few of the top comments state, I've learned that my serious face is attractive. Only thing I have to work on is learning to smile when woman make eye contact with me, once I get that down I'll be good. But, what I usually do to not make people hate or dislike me is I'm always talkative and friendly, even if my face is serious. Like at work I'll be walking by and I see someone for the first time in the day, I'll be like whatsup man, or I'll nod my head so that people know I look serious but I'm still cool.

Force a smile upon eye contact when you wish to appear approachable, kind, or engage. Short of plastic surgery and smiles, there’s little else that can be done. Your expression is a genuine reflection of your current disposition. If you don’t want to look like an arrogant asshole, don’t be one.

Yeah, any suggestions would be helpful. Women in my peer group say they thought I was in my mid 30s when they first met me. I'm 23. Some even said they were intimidated at first.

I try to lighten up while talking, but it's just so easy to go back to looking stern.
