How were my parents and grandparents able to meet each other at a young age and get married without ever having heard of seduction or pick up artistry?

Parents, grandparents all married and settled down in early to mid 20s but I'm past that age and still inexperienced. My mother thinks I shouldn't be struggling with women because I'm better educated, have more material goods, and higher income than both my parents and grandparents back then at the same age. Back then it was like a social goal to settle down and have children before 30. I doubt that my social skills are lacking so much compared to my family members. I think one difference is they all lived in Asia then and I'm now a minority in North America.
