My dad told me never to chase girls. Unless you find that one girl that you really care about. Do you treat girls that you actually want differently than the girls you just want to sleep with?

Healthy relationships shouldn't be a power struggle where you have to be worried about your partner loosing interest in you at any given moment. Think about whether you would enjoy it if a woman played similar games with you and tried to manipulate you with the amount of attention and affection she gave you. No? Then you have your answer. And tbh, from the limited information you gave in your Dad... is that really someone you want to model yourself after?

he's right in principle. It's just more about valueing yourself and not holding yourself down to women who are not good relationship material.. and chasing and overpursueing tends communicate her time is more valuable than yours.
the unethical part is hump n dump mentality tho.

Low value girls (aka the drama queen, low self esteem) will string you along and play with your heart. not the type you should be chasing and waste your time on even if they're hot.

I understand what your father meant. I notice in mine but also relationships of basically anyone that as soon as women feel they have you that the excitement is gone. By giving them something but not everything is keeps that excitement alive.

Look at how they treat guys that do everything for them vs the guy cheats on them the whole time.

I am certainly not saying that you should cheat on them. All I am saying that if they have you completely, they lose interest.

A hobby or a goal you feel passionate about can have the same effect. If you have that, they won't have all of you. For your father that was Football.

If you want to have a good relationship with a woman, she needs to feel special and be happy.

I’m used to being chased by the women I date and I’m used to women always wanting a relationship with me.

There’s been only two times in my life when I met a woman that I actually wanted a relationship with. And both times I said I was going to do it differently with her and treat her right. And both times it backfired and I lost the girl because I did too much of a 180.

Most of the girls I date want relationships with me because I walk the line, I’m confident but I also make them feel special. From now on, when I meet a woman I’m crazy about, I’m going to treat her the same as the woman who wanted relationships with me.

What I'm about to describe is probably not the same, but I treat "normal" girls more seriously and respectfully, I actually care about them and sometimes I do something for them, I put some effort. I do it voluntarily without expecting anything in return. I sort of "reward" those girls for being normal. I feel like they deserve good treatment.

By "normal" I mean normal human beings, you can actually talk to them openly and come to terms, they treat me and themselves with respect, are assertive, don't play games, don't change their mind every minute and are gentle towards me.

On the other hand, sometimes I deal with girls that are slightly messed up, still attractive enough to consider them as potential lover and are also interested in me. They often play games, have weird expectations, don't know what they want and try to manipulate me. Nope, I refuse to chase them. If such a girl hooks up with me from time to time, cool. But if it requires a lot of effort, I'm out

We, as woman, also have the same thoughts- as long as the guys think they have you, they will run. Lol. However, if you want them fall for you, chase them. All girls like the feeling of flattered, being chased. But has to be in a classy way. Once they fall for you, the ball is in your court
