I am currently at the tail end of my divorce. To keep things uncontested I had to concede one of my dogs. However within the same document it says if she doesn't remove any property from the marital home within 30 days of signing I hold ownership of said property. Here is where it gets weird. She doesn't have the means to take this dog into her apartment. So she is trying to get me to take my dog back cross country at which time she feels entitled to take her back when she is ready.

One, would I be in the right to keep her? I am avoiding any language that accepts her taking my dog back later. Next separate from that just after 30 days would it stand that she belongs to me outright? Would I have legal standing?

Her other option is to take my dog from me and our other dog and place her in a home of friends until she can take her back from them. This dog has bad separation anxiety and I am fearful for her well being. Plus they are my dogs nowhere on the adoption forms is her name present.
