I had intense self loathing from a young age. I was convinced, convinced that I was very ugly. I look back at pictures from my teenage prom and I see a very handsome young man. I fundamentally did not, could not believe it at the time no matter what anyone said.

Similar experience, was bullied and such. Still building up confidence and battling insecurity as I was always in a boarding school. All my life I have been surrounded by guys mostly. So after school, aunts saw me after like more than 7 years, I remember one held my face saying "he is so beautiful". When I was studying masters in Europe, had more exposure to girls, I could easily hold a convo for as long as possible like hour and two. One male friend asked me if I was ever approached to which I denied during start of our studies. He replied saying you don't talk to women that's why (I never told anyone that). I even put my picture on r/truerateme once, they gave a rating of 4.5-5/9. I still count myself a 2/10.

I was bullied until I got to highschool and I've been called an 8 and even a 9 by multiple women at this point. Being pretty doesn't save your from bullying kids are just assholes and will attack anyone who is different or "weird". It was so bad that this pretty girl in college that I had a crush on called me handsome at a party to my face and I basically couldn't fathom the concept that I was anything but a goblin.

No you shouldn’t pay any attention to it. People will bully the people they’ve always bullied. I was bullied relentlessly from 5-16, but it stopped when I moved away and got a fresh start
