I would always say "single". Or I'd say, "I'm a single-dad just trying to make it in this world." Just to be funny.

If you’re divorced, the answer is obvious (or none of their business until it is relevant). When I was in process I would say “it’s complicated” but I had already landed my current fiancé so not really important.

The faster you accept that you're divorced the better off you will be. Anyone who wants to judge you for it can kick rocks. I'm very much against dating people who are closed minded now so I'd like to know as soon as possible if someone is going to look down on me for being divorced

TBH never thought about this question before. I don't have kids, and except for spousal support, I have no contact nor any entanglements with the eX. So I would answer single 🤔

That I am divorced rapidly comes up in conversation if someone is actively flirting with me...
