Honestly, I enjoy the time with my son. She’s not here ruining the moments. Enjoy it man, some guys don’t even get access to their kids these days. F’d up world we live in.

I did it for years. It wasn’t easy at all. But, in hindsight they were some of the best years with my kids since she wasn’t there to fuck things up.

I am not a single father anymore! Yeah I now have one evening/night every 2 weeks for myself... ummpf It's a hard job but I wouldn't want to swap my life with all dads who don't or hardly see their children at all. Don't forget that OP!

You got this man. The lights are on, there's food to eat, and you're going to be even a better Papa Bear than you were before.

I find schedule, schedule, schedule - not down to the last 15 minutes, but something like "Dinner 5-6PM Homework in kitchen 6-7 as I clean up, Break 7-8PM, Bath and Story 8-9PM" worked well. Also a Calendar: 1 and 15th Bills and Budget Review, 5th and 15th deeper cleaning, Monday and Thursday swiffer after sweeping, etc. Helped.

The single dad life is hard, no denying that, but always look on the brighter side. When you have the kids, their yours, you can do what you have always wanted to do with them without the ex complaining behind you every step of the way. I mean, I randomly decided tonight to take them to Chuck cheese just us, and it was glorious. They had a blast, and their was no one else their to bring me down either.

Yeah buddy Shits hard and every day it hits me like a brick that I don't get to give my kids the happy life that they unknowingly had taken from them by a bitter selfish poor excuse of a woman that is their mother.

Hey brother, hang in there. You can do this. It’s all about the kids. And you can make it work. It doesn’t really get easier, but you will find your groove. You’ll figure out how to make it work for them. And they will see everything you did for them. Maybe not today or this year, but they will let you know.

It’s ok to be angry, just don’t let the kids see.

Stay on this sub and let people know how you are doing. We’ve all been in similar circumstances at some point, and hopefully we can help.
