Small or big acts of male advocacy that you do ?

I donated to associations focused on support of male victims of DV (they are rare and don't advertise themselves too much for fear of being caught in a shitstorm, but they exist).

Aside from that, unless you have a platform, the only real thing you can do is to talk about it to the people around you. Being able to do so in a way that doesn't ruffle their feathers is an art form.

I'm a medical student who will specialize in Oncology (Cancer doc). I shifted my entire career focus. I was originally going into Women's Medicine/Oncology. I have shifted completely and will now be focusing heavily on Men's Medicine/Oncology and my outreach programs as an Oncologist will almost be solely directed towards boys and men. I will still treat women with the utmost care, respect, dignity, and to the best of my ability; however, my main focus will be boys/men.

I will also be creating grants and scholarships for boys only to focus on getting them into the healthcare field more. I have done a test phase of this [in Cameroon, Africa] and will be using it as a template for here in the States [Utah specifically].

I have shifted my life and rededicated it to ensuring a better future for our awesome boys and longevity of our men. Doesn't matter what it takes, I'm in it for the long haul - through the good and bad.

Choose the most qualified person for your needs, not somebody to further an agenda.

I'm a 63yo disabled veteran. I've been in the VA system since 1989. I have recently decided that I will refuse to see female doctors. Not as an MRA issue, but for my own medical safety. Over the last 10-12 years, it has become clear to me that the outcomes I have endured with female doctors has been overwhelmingly negative as compared to those from male doctors. I even had one who slipped up and said, "I never believed your migraines are real." She said this despite clear medical evidence that I began suffering from them after suffering a TBI back in 1984 while was in the military. There are more examples, the most recent being one who prescribed a med that when combined with one I was already taking could lead to a deadly interaction, and she said nothing. Not a word of warning. That was the final straw. I just got lucky that I found out before beginning the med.

I think actually one of the biggest gap and discrimination between man and woman is in education: women have a lot more opportunities ( as dedicated scholarships) society is fully committed in giving the best chances of education to women, while nobody cares if men don't get proper education and end up in shitty jobs. Womens are much more likely to find help or a tutor while learning because men will always help and teach a woman, the other way around is not always true.

Where I work I have a lot of students doing internships, most of them are women: my colleagues ( both male and female) tutor female student a lot more than the male ones ( that often are accused to be lazy and less hard working) what I try to do is to tutor those male student that I think just need a different teaching approach and motivation.

On a personal level I do my best to support men and boys, especially my son and my grandsons.

When I still was a (fiction) writing coach, I did my best to tactically point out misandry and double standards where I found it. F ex a woman had written a thriller in which all men were talking some kind of locker room talk that I didn’t recognise at all in real life. I criticised it and she thoroughly changed it. The book won the Dutch Female Thriller Award 2019 (not because of that, but just the same)!

Idk about the whole gender reverse thing man. As much of a male advocate as I am, I think if women want to have female doctors and personal trainers that’s more than reasonable. If they feel safer doing that I’m glad they do, and I think if men think switching to service by other men will make their lives better than that’s good as well.

I think some gender reversing is needed for highlighting hypocrisy but with this it just seems petty.

To answer your question l, I talk about men’s issues to some friends, which honestly is something no one else I know does. A lot of facts are quite shocking and I believe society would be better if we share them.

I’m not there yet mentally or physically, but one day I plan to be a children’s educator or similar community support figure. It’s my ultimate plan in life to teach the younger generations how to value themselves and others around them, how to critically look at ideas, and how to tear down the ideas that are fed to us.
