I think looks do play a huge part but life experience has shown me masculinity, confidence and social skils can be even more important than looks.

A truly masculine man will attract women even more than looks in some cases. There are limita of course, being exceptionally ugly and suffering from dwarfism or other extremes would hinder that, but it would have to be an extreme.

So, if I take your advice I have to do all kinds of surgeries: on my nose, for wrinkles, ears, hair and eyebrow implants, make my eyes bigger... no thanks. I rather prefer to dress nice, be clean, and smell good (things you can make in 5 minutes, daily grooming) and it works even like that.

Of course fight with your weight if you have to (not too skinny, not too obese - although if you give a sign that you are working on the problem, it is okay if you are skinny or obese.) .

Going to the gym, doing sports like jogging, tennis, basketball is good for your health, you will get a nice posture, eating vegetables (cutting the sugar) will reduce acne and give your skin a nice color.

My looks have never gotten me the relationships I've wanted. I've always been over-sexualized because of them. I started to give up on finding a high value or quality partner. I have big boobs and a butt and my body attracts a certain type of man. Usually they are addicted, lying losers. I struggled my whole early twenties with wanting to find someone to take me seriously and was used at every opportunity just for sex. I got into my late twenties and kinda just accepted my socio economic level (poor-middle class) and my looks (basically a bimbo) even when I would try to dress classy- it just doesn't work with my body type- I accepted I probably would never find the guy I want to be with. I'm in college and working towards having a better image of myself but all my past experiences in life have shown me- maybe I don't deserve a quality man. I'm not sure how to unpack some of the misfortune I've had or if it was all self inflicted. No one showed me how to date. I didn't have a father figure around to tell me how men would end up treating me or how to acquire a good man. The world is a little weird now. I've gone on to sell content online and kinda just live this lie of being happy being alone. It seems if I am going to be used as a sex toy because of my looks I might as well make a dime off it. All this is to say yeah, you can be good looking. And still not find what you want. I guess using your looks and good genes in a way to get what you want is the part I'm lacking. Playing the game of dating is honestly a big joke now though. Everyone is out for something. Women want a big ring and money in the bank. Men want a wife that will let them fuck whoever and still want to come home to them/bare children etc etc. The double standards are everywhere. Love this for us.

This post is so wrong and incel on so many levels.

Let’s just break down your main topic on different aspects: “looks advertises the quality of your genes”

This means supposedly speaking your parents somehow had worse off genes than led you to be whatever attractiveness you have.

Simply incorrect. So many psychology studies have shown, if you only talk about objective attractiveness without other feedback (personality etc), then it’s the ratios of your facial features RELATIVE to each other, such as symmetry, the ratio of nose width to mouth width, etc. This was tested on a diverse group, especially babies, positive to negative reactions to different faces, excluding bias from personal experience as much as possible.

This is why you hear the phrase he’s not conventionally attractive or whatever. Someone can be a big nose but if the rest of his features work together ratio wise. It will look attractive.

Why does this matter? This means your parents can be god tier attractive. But their features given to you together do not mesh well. We haven’t even talked about the randomness in inheritance yet.

So yours looks and how attractive your are unfortunately don’t advertise your genes.

Besides objective attractiveness, the overall attraction is really case by case, individual by individual. Certain people with certain facial features may have had a positive impact on a person’s childhood, could be a mentor figure, an idol, a celebrity. This causes the person to bias and think certain faces are more attractive compared to others. This is common with the hollywood effect where people grew up in the west compared to say, someone grew up in Korea, has vastly different preference for facial features.

So again, no looks don’t advertise your genes.

On the other hand, your energy, and what you as a person overall portrays, matters a lot. Looks sure play a part, but that “looks” certainly aint your genes.

Just gonna spit a fact here. Even if you are a 9999/10 gigachad looks wise and you act creepy as fuck, can’t make eye contact, you won’t close shit. Period.

I personally think looks says a lot more about a persons childhood, and environmental factors. Could explain the intricate reasons behind why people’s eyes sink or why their jaw doesn’t develop or they have acne but at the end of the day you either see it or you don’t.

Have to disagree. Looks are not genetic. They are luck. I have parents with good looking features. I was good looking till 16. Then? Puberty make and destroyed my face. Upper eyelid exposure. Crooked nose. Deformed jawline. I look like a child with down syndrome now.
