You dont need preselection. You can think of a combination of traits women find attractive to be a positive weight.

Every woman has some set of individual minimums below which she won't date and a minimum of sum of all weights. If you clip those mins, she is interested. If you dont, she is not.

Pre-selection is just one weight that gets added to the aggregate
