This is pretty common across all of social media. Indians are not a protected class like black men. Neither are Indians considered privileged like white men.

Perfect targets of racism. You will find this very prevalent in the so called progressive and inclusive subs.

I saw a post on damnthatsinteresting subreddit which was about the populations of countries and the number of medals they have won.

The comment section was full of people talking bout how Indians are rapists and unhygienic. Anybody who spoke against with got downvoted. People defended it by saying, you can't be racist against Indians because Indian is not a race. It's a culture.

Correct. It'd be illegal. And men are fine with that. Unlike rapist Indian women who rioted on their streets for their "right" to rape their fathers, brothers, sons and husbands and succeeded. And not just once or twice, but thrice in three separate years. And none of the "good ones" counter-protested against them, either, meaning they are all implicitly in support of this. No wonder upwards of 16.1% of Indian men report being raped by women as adults alone.

With the recent rape cases, the hate has been deemed justified and all the frustation of women in their personal lives are being spewed out on social media as hate for men bcus all indian men are rapists. I mean yeah sure lets not do anthying which might help the victims instead bully people online cause thats easier and gives you a sense of righteousness ??? Or a feeling of "getting back at them" ? I've seen a lot of anti-Indian hate on reddit, tends to be from people who have never even been and their only knowledge of India is what their Facebook/Twitter feed has told them. The good news is Reddit has good moderation policies against hate and threats, and I have seen some of these users receive perma-bans for it.

As an American of South Asian (specifically indian) origin, seeing shit like this is just awful. As others pointed out, these downright racist comments are generally accepted while anything even remotely critical of black men (who commit most of the violent crime in this country) won’t even be tolerated.
