My wife and 1 have been married for roughly 5 years. The past year, we have been in a cycle of very intense fighting and on my end, I stay with hopes of things getting better. I also stay because I can't fathom being away from my son at all. Lots of our fighting consists of a few topics. 1)My wife stays home and I work a 60-80 hour "blue collar" job every week. She rarely cooks or has dinner ideas and many times I come home to her being stressed out about a million random things, and no chores/dinner have even been considered. I come home many days / nights and do chores to ease my mind, help the kids with homework, etc because it stresses her out. 2.) We don't seem to agree on much of anything these days so very little disagreements tend to spiral out of control. The fights are heated, she insults like crazy, and sticks to things I never said. 3.) She goes in and out of using weed gummies or alcohol daily and i don't agree with it. Which was made known from day 1. (Drinking alcohol in moderation or casually doesn't bother me) 4.) Finances. She gets 600 in child support from her ex that I don't ask about, so that's her money to do whatever with for her and my stepdaughter... and she also runs through about 1200 bucks a month of our money resulting in us being check to check constantly. I haven't had serious conversations with her about this lately because i just know how sour they go, and I prefer to just exist in it. My kids don't see it because to them l am a very present and positive father. But am I just delaying the inevitable? I never wanted to divorce, but I really think I've lost hope in it. Is it time to make that call, and how do I go about it?
