See, I'm sure it happens. Like there are likely specific stores with a biased manager that are a subsect of a larger company. At these individual stores/facilities, it's possible that there is a real discrepancy between the wages of equally competent men and women where women make less. There's managers that are doing shady shit all the time, and they absolutely can make up a BS reason to be doing this. Or, they don't even realize that they are doing it, as bias can be subconscious.

But, this also means that it's likely that there is the opposite case happening too. I'm willing to bet that there are plenty of instances of men being paid less, likely in the female dominated jobs you mentioned.

Either way, it's unlikely that either of these cases are universal. I've had a boss offer me a significant raise to try to get me to stay with the company, as well as another girl, so I'm pretty confident it's not an across the board thing. It's a much more complicated issue than a lot of feminists out there would like to think, and sometimes, a specific worker can just be lazy lol.

Also the number of people who say that we need more female billionaires is a bit weird. I thought we didn't like extremely rich people, but okay. We're gonna let that slide just to close the gap? Idk about that.

The gender wage gap myth has been debunked multiple times by many economists since the 1970's. Feminists still believe the sexist propaganda.

According to Feminists, everything negative that happens is men's fault, including women's own bad choices. Talk about Privilege!

This is another one of those things where Neoliberalism has undermined any attempt at actual liberalism and social justice because Feminism is a neoliberal apologist group in addition to being a female supremacy group.

By willfully and deliberately overlooking the enormous component of class dynamics and capitalism as the driving force of income inequality, Feminism stops short of informing its followers and demanding action to place more severe, egalitarian controls on capitalist systems to force employers to create gender-neutral pay grades.

Instead, capitalists enable business owners to essentially freeze wages for any reason, leading to a staggering disparity between the rise in productivity versus the across-the-board stagnancy in wages. In most cases, if you aren't advocating for yourself by demanding higher wages, you aren't getting them.

It's a capitalist policy that "it's rude to discuss your wages", but the solution to "the pay gap" is dead simple.

Wage transparency.

And capitalists hate wage transparency because the ultimate goal of capitalism is to make the highest profit possible. An informed consumer is bad for business because they're harder to deceive with poor-quality materials or a price-gouging markup.

Likewise, an informed worker is bad for the owner, because nepotism and favoritism due to personal biases are exposed when everyone knows what everyone else is making. The difference between management and "the ground units" becomes palpable when you realize how many more tens of thousands the person (who likely doesn't know how to do your job) is making more than the person sacrificing their health and wellbeing for manual/intellectual labor.

We, as a society, have been so cowed by the religious doctrine of "the free market", that we don't even stop to question who stands to gain from industry secrets. Some of us are compelled to do, honestly, terrible things under NDAs for the threat of losing our only source of income, our access to healthcare, and our main source of stability in the modern world. Why are we beholden to a sacred concept we're ridiculing for questioning while our political allies are using mixed-market economies for a significantly better standard of living?

Inequality is enabled by unfettered capitalism. If you honestly, earnestly want to address inequality of the sexes, particularly when it comes to earnings, you have to address what enables the system to perpetuate inequality. And that's poorly regulated economics.

In order to meaningfully change the world, you have to question the structures of authority that have let the world come to this state.

Feminism has been around since the early 1800s. It's not counter-culture anymore, it IS culture. You can't honestly say when women are in the highest office in multiple countries around the world that women have no representation. The systems remain broken because the thrall of capitalism appears to be too strong for even the "best" of women who make it into the highest places of power and then retain the status quo.

The intellectual dishonesty of Feminism, which is multifaceted, to say the least, is grounded at its core by the failure to continue up the chain of socially constructed power dynamics when they question authority.

Like a religious fanatic who claims god is unknowable and had his own motivations for putting the stars in the sky, they seem to claim that men have installed themselves into power to subjugate and dominate women... all while ignoring the plentiful evidence that it's actually the system of wealth that enables the wealthy, regardless of sex, to wield excessive influence and power over society through the exploitation of labor. Men are plainly subjugated as well, arguably even more so as men are traditionally the first sent off to die in war.

And they claim this is a "Patriarchy" and not a Plutocracy.

You are beholden to lies.

Question authority.

Investigate the truth.

Men are shamed for not paying for a woman's way in dating and judged for their income. That alone would create a massive incentive system in which men must work harder, longer and smarter, and where women can effectively coast or put in a bare minimum. There's an earnings gap because men work to establish themselves and provide for entire families, while women mainly work for independence.

And even with all of that, this shit complaint has no basis whatsoever when you realize that women to this day have no problem being parasites who take men's money while not working themselves, meaning that no matter how much more men supposedly earn compared to women, that money STILL ends up in the hands of women. And feminists still have the nerve to come up with this shit, it's just unbeliavable

And some of the things people say are double standards against women aren't really double standards, but because of biological or neuro-psychological reality. And nobody is saying women can't do X or be Y. Like how men are disproportionately diagnosed or effects from neurological disorders like autism spectrum disorder is because of complex things and not because of some kind of conspiratorial sexism. Nobody is saying a woman can't have autism or can't enjoy sex stuff.

I see it a little differently. I think the “gender wage gap” is more about how women fall behind- and where they need improvement- better negotiating skills for example, pursuing careers more aggressively that they aren’t fully qualified for, similarly to how men do, deprioritizing family obligations for career pursuits and minimizing time off work for things like having children, learning trades, making themselves appear as more credible so they don’t deal with slow downs at work due to perceived incompetence, not putting their careers on the back burner to support households and husbands, etc. If women keep focusing on those things I think even the perceived gap will decrease.
