Like most of the people already commented I can vouch for the observation that most people I’ve seen who’ve maintained relationships with each other have had similarly demanding / responsible jobs.

In other words, class is often the most critical common unifier. The only time I hear people say that successful, salaried men ever prefer and choose to marry hot but broke / part-time women under 25 is in the manosphere. Never IRL.

Of course it is. It's always easier to form relationships when you have something in common. Same can be applied to hobbies, interests, world view, etc. Looks like some people just lack any form of common sense and grew up isolated from other human beings.

You don't have to have the same careers but you should have careers that require roughly similar amounts of education/training/effort. People who aren't high level professionals don't really have a clue what's involved. And it's not just the professional classes -- women who work boring 9 to 5 jobs have no clue what it takes to have a job that entails long hours and/or physical danger.

Women who don't understand what their husbands have done/sacrificed to provide almost universally underestimate their husbands' efforts.

This can be applied to commonalities in general. Gauging anyone by their career is a terrible idea though; hell men that earn more are more likely to be psychopaths or narcissists.

My BF has a nice humble job and since we don't have to pay rent we have more disposable income than my friend who's an accountant given she's single and has to pay crazy rent in the city. I love autistic men, they're very good with money... unless their most devoted hobby is an expensive one then you're screwed :')

From what I've gathered women should avoid high earners and specifically men in the travel industry, and men should also avoid women in the travel industry and women in healthcare, going by cheating and harmful personality disorder stats anyway.

Of course. My hot take about this is I don’t think dating through work is as bad as people say. I’ve never done it but I don’t judge people who get together with a coworker (assuming they were both single to start with) and don’t warn others against doing so — I only advise thinking ahead and being prepared to behave maturely if the relationship ends.

I'm sure that's true for many, but personally I wouldn't date too closely in my field, and I have friends who feel the same. My SO too for that matter.

That being said, being with someone who supports you and your goals, also when they're different is non negotiable.

Workplaces frown upon this shit these days and it can make your life a living hell as a man if you pick wrong, so it’s not necessarily the best idea to meet someone at work anymore.

But there needs to be one person more career oriented than the other. It’s kind of in the nature of how women choose men anyways. See: “ambitious”.

Depends on the field, for example if I was purely in sales, I WOULD NOT date a woman that does sales as well. Same with lawyers.
