Lawyers don't generally care. My ex tried to embellish a couple things to make me sound abusive. They said this crap happens all the time from moms. We will get a psychologist to talk to oldest. If it leads to nothing she will be in deep crap..Psych was some young girl who refused to point any fingers but if you read between trh lines mom was telling kids.how she has to pay me all this money (she kept the fully paid off house....) and mentioned alienation I think, but didn't name who (literally nothing mentioned tied to me). No worries about anything, both my oldest and myself just not as close to each other as either would like. Surprise surprise. Zero consequences for alienation or false accusations

Good news is after you spend some time with them and as they get older they smarten up and realize mom has her issues..I generally don't say anything bad, but I will tell the facts of asked a pointed question.. or if they ask why did you do this to mom? And I'll tell them wait really happened and let them make their own judgement

Due to my cheating stbxw abandoning our daughter for the paramour needs, and other stupid actions...there is now a rift between them. Stbxw blames me. Stbxw hates the fact that my daughter has a stronger bond with me than her.

Everytime it looks like the relationship is starting to heal, stbxw goes on her mysterious trips and abandons her and lies to our daughter. Instead of realizing the damage she is doing, she blames me and accuses me of Parental Alienation.

Sorry but I shouldn't be wasting my time trying to fix my stbxw fractured relationship with our daughter. Only mom can fix things...

The best way to combat parental alienation is to have equal or better parenting time. Demonstrate to your children by your day to day actions towards them that you are not the monster that you're painted to be. Kids are smarter than we give them credit for, but they're not necessarily listening to what you say - they're watching what you do.

My nexw tried that with our daughter while we were still married, luckily my daughter and I have a close relationship based on mutual respect and communication, she was about 13 when her mom started acting like this with her, mom tried to be the bff, forcing herself on to her, in the sense that she wanted to be her confidant, yet the kid never really opened up to her, but she would to me, she trusted me.

I was there when the kid had an issue and would listen to her, gave my advice when she asked me for it, that's how I fought her by not falling in to the trap, I told the kid many times, you are smart enough to tell when someone has your best interest at heart, and who doesn't, actions speak louder than words, if you have any questions for me don't be afraid to ask them I will be honest with you.

Time. Quality time is the only way you can combat it. Even though your kids are young they will see that what’s being fed to them doesn’t match reality. If she’s not careful they will grow to hate and resent her.

Be there for your kids, show them love, teach them values/principles, have fun with them, bolster their passions…just be the best father you can be.

I can remember every terrible thing my mother said to me about my dad growing up, I was maybe 8 around the time. Granted he wasn’t the best father growing up but because she spoke ill of him to me it made me feel defective. Now I look at her in those moments IN A VERY DIM LIGHT.

My daughter is much younger and I recognized the parental alienation immediately. I'll give a rough summary of what I have learned.

The courts are last or even not an option. This is a psychological battle and the courts blatantly do not care. Is it possible to change the parenting plan or circumstances due to parental alienation? Yes but it will be a financial battle, you basically wreck the other party and yourself financially to change things. If the alienated party is financially well off then it is an option but is a poor one.

The best thing is to first gain as much custody as possible, 50/50 is now becoming the standard. Next is to spend as much quality time with the child as possible, more than just chilling at home (camping, fishing, hiking, amusement park, zoo, museum, parks, ect.) Let the child pick the event but give them 2 or 3 options, unless it's a big trip that takes lots of planning. Go out to eat occasionally and let them choose the place. Let them decorate their room how they want. Do not bad mouth the alienating party and if you get triggered stay quiet or walk away (use the bathroom, have a coughing fit, whatever.) Whatever you do not say cannot be used against you.

Personally I quit all bad habits (drinking, nicotine, energy drinks) or anything that could hurt my health and I hit the gym. This is good for health and being a role model. Being parentally alienated is one of the worst abuses this life has to offer. It is obvious to the targeted parent but not to the child, courts or other people. Keep strong, stay quiet and keep trying.
