I mean bars and clubs attract a very particular type of people usually depending upon the bar. If you're looking for any specific type of sub-community, try those bars. Goth bars, gaming bars, boardgame bars, etcetera. The standard ass ones are mostly just gonna be bringing in party types.. and those types tend to have more standards for things like appearance as an example. Imagine those whiney super picky Instagram types. That's what you're contending with in a lot of those club settings if you're not picking niche ones.

And if you're looking for someone who is introverted.. eh.. if you're trying for that at a bar, look for the person who only shows up there once or twice ever. Lolol. Because they're only there because they got dragged there for an event or for friends.

Not all bars are night clubs or party places. Go to some chill bars with friends and strike up conversations with strangers. There's a bar in my city that has a bunch of fun games like giant Jenga blocks, a giant Scrabble board, giant Connect Four game, mini golf outside, etc. These kinds of bars are good practice. They are drinking, you are drinking, the alcohol will help loosen you up and get rid of nerves. You don't have to be drunk, but it helps make things fun.

But perhaps this is generational as well. I am on the cusp of millennial and Gen Z, so people my age still like going out to bars. I heard younger Gen Z men and women do not hang out in-person like this, so I dunno.

Women can get dates/ hookups anywhere why go to the bar- Find someone who’s drunk or trying to be? Doesn’t sound appealing in the slightest

Bars are amongst the worst places to meet people. The only shared interest is the fact that you both drink. When you're someone who wants to date people with the intent of securing a long-term relationship, a bar isn't the best place to find someone stable and available.

Bar-enthusiasts may have addiction problems, or a lack of emotional regulation.

Guys just trying to get their 🍆 wet may enjoy going to bars to pick up women, but alcohol doesn't typically lead to good outcomes.

Depends on your personality and the kind of personality you like in others. In my opinion, long term successful relationships that end in marriage don’t often start in bars anymore. But there’s many exceptions to every rule. Great place for casual dating/hookups I assume. Also probably a great place to pick up STDs, tbh.

If you like going to bars anyway, you should definitely chat up the women who are there. Whether you actually have success or not, you’ll still get good experience

There’s bars and there’s bars. Meeting a casual acquaintance at the local and striking up a conversation while you both wait for your friends, or over the pool table is very different to the pseudo- nightclub scene.

It's one of the few places where approaching romantically is still acceptable. Women who frequent bars are also more likely to be more open to having sex with a man... some party girls are easy. Might not be the ideal place to meet a life partner (depending on your values), but probably one of the best places to meet a casual partner.

Clubs are another example. I had a guy friend who makes out with women at the club every time he goes, and sometimes, he takes them on dates. Some of the women at these places are open to that.
