basically i am from a hip, big liberal city. A lot of people move here every year either to study or to become some bohemian artist, mainly techno DJ. Now i grew up here so my friends are all just normal people that i know from high school. We all study/work, go to the gym, attend some cultural events and lead a normal life. No drugs, no Djing etc.

I met a lot of girls through the apps who moved here and they all have this one thing in common. They try to be one of the "cool" people. They put a lot of work into meeting people that are famous, give them a guestlist spot or do some kind of artistic pursuit. Although i have a big heart for art and i myself write a lot just for the sake of it, these people are very pretentious and dont really do somehting but just try to be this persona.

For some reason, these girls fall for the failed drug addict soundcloud rapper. When they meet me, it feels like they think that i am kinda boring cause i lead a normal life. I dont know a lot of people but i also really dont care as these people are fake, they dont belong to the spirit of this city and they just try to be cool without any real passion for what they do.

My question/discussion point is: Do you think that knowing people, havign status, being one of the cool kids who can get you on the guestlist is vital to get hot girls? Or is this just an issue in my liberal hip city that many of the wrong people move to?

I personally think that this is kind of the game oyu have to have, at least in my city. For normal/average girls, being a normal dude might be enough but all the hot girls i try to get seem to value this social status fuckery so much that i start to think that its vital.
