Active listening is a good start. Ask questions about her life that'll make her open up more, a few touches on the hand and shoulder here and there, show a bit of affection. I like to imagine, say if there's a 2nd or 3rd date nd she's still happily yapping away, she's gotta be somewhat interested. Then keep testing the waters and see how deep you can get. It depends on what you're looking for. If you constantly feel out of place, it’s going to be tough. Being quiet and being boring are different things, I'm quiet, but I can hold a conversation very well and make girls laugh without much effort. If a girl is talkative and likes to laugh, its literally the easiest date possible.

I feel people say this and actually, it is that you can't talk because you're energy is being used analysing and judging situations (insecurity). If you could, why aren't you just doing the thing that you think is 'better' then?

Being 'quiet' is valid if when you do speak, it's 'potent' (not quiet at all). If what you offer is enticing, it's enticing. It's not about breadth, it's depth; quality. If you can say one line and everyone laughs, you don't need to tell a story to get the same result.

Again, you obviously have to offer something of substance that garners being 'atrtacted' to; you can't do nothing but live inside your head and expect attention; but being present, aware and choosing to offer that value selectively is equally as valid, it's still 'offering value'.

Let 'em talk away. I got 2 ears and 1 mouth, and chicks get all excited and nervous around a man and talk nonstop. So I listen, and see if this girl is even worth my time. I ask questions, lead some conversations, flirt with her, if a decision needs to be made I make it. I don't know about how people perceive me, if they find me boring, then so be it. They can make up their minds as I make up mine. If she starts complaining about it then it's an issue for her and you need to say hey look...I'm just not a talkative person, and I can't force if....take it or leave it.
