My metric for success on dating apps is actual dates materialized. I like to get around 1 date a week when I'm using them to feel they're worthwhile.

I've used tinder and bumble the most. Tinder because it's the OG and bumble because I find there's a lot of quirky arty girls on there and I like that.

Bumble's whole shtick is that the girls are supposed to message you first, but they only say "hi" and still want you to carry the conversation. That's just how women behave online though so you still gotta be prepared to do all the work at first even on apps that try to nudge the women to do more.

My pics are a lot of me smiling in cozy places, and I have a few shirtless ones as well. Women say they hate shirtless pics but when you include them, you get more matches. Only if you've built a decent physique though, goes without saying.

For my opening message I usually lightly poke fun at something in her pics or bio, or send her something bizarre like "you're giving me the wiggles rn girl" lmfao

If we're vibing and there's some rapport I try to set a date up within that first conversation for later in the week. Lots of girls are only on the apps for attention, or they want to message back and forth for days/weeks before meeting up so I want to weed those ones out because they're a waste of time and I could be on dates rn.

All in all, I enjoy the app experience. But all the mainstream advice on how to make the most of them sets men up to fail imo. You have to present as kind of a fuckboy to get a decent selection of matches, as much as women say they hate them. It's about going off their revealed preferences rather than stated ones.

But once you have a date setup and you're vibing irl, they become a lot less passive and picky if they like you even just a little bit.

I got 21 likes between 10 dating apps in a month-long period. Only match was with a bot.

My Chadfish received 45 likes in a two weeks and I lost count on matches. Solely on Tinder.

Forget threshold. If you aren’t in the upper echelon, it ain’t worth it.

I'd say I had a successful time on Tinder.

Averaged around 3 matches a day. Materialised in to about 5 decent conversations a week. Met up/went on a date with someone roughly every 2-3 weeks. Had a good few short relationships from it, one mid-length, then matched with the woman who is now my wife.

Take into consideration that men are not all optimizing for number of matches. Take into consideration that looking for hookups and looking for relationships gives a very different environment and results, standards or measures of success.

I am 40 and looking just for sex on dating apps. My match rate is very different when i set my filter to ages 35-45 and when i swipe everyone i would agree to have sex with, than when i set my filter to what would be a highly rewarding experience for me and only want to meet 18-22yo for sex.

I adjust my match rate through filters and pickiness to a point where i am getting barely enough frequency for my current needs. When i want to have casual sex once a week, my approach to dating apps is different than when i am fine with having casual sex once per half year.
