When it comes to the sale of most illegal goods or services, we see the seller as the greater criminal: Selling drugs is a bigger crime than buying them for example. Sometimes we even see the buyer as the victim.

It’s funny how there’s been an effort to reverse this when it comes to prostitution. As with a drug dealer, a prostitute is choosing to sell a service. If we are going to claim a prostitute is a victim of her clients, then by the same logic we should also be saying drug dealers and arms dealers are victims of their clients.

Anti-prostitution laws that punish buyers (all male, of course) are just thinly veiled misandry. The Nordic Model is misandry.

Legalizing voluntary, consensual sex work does the greatest good for the greatest number of both men and women. This is completely separate from trafficking, and the two should not be conflated. In fact, studies have shown that decriminalizing voluntary sex work even reduces the overall rate of sexual violence.

The seller of the sex service is a woman. Society sees it as woman being exploited by the men who want to buy sex. For any other illegal act of buying and selling the seller is always the one who gets jailed. If you are a man and sell drugs then you are going to jail. They don't put the buyer of the drugs in jail unless you were caught with something. Just because you bought drugs doesn't mean you are going to jail.

The woman is selling sex but she is the victim of her clients. The opposite wouldn't be true though. You wouldn't blame the drug buyers and not the dealers. But when it comes to women selling sex to men then the woman are the victims. The woman are really the ones taking advantage of men in this situation. For example, the men are probably lonely or don't get sex from their wives.

When it comes to any of this kind of thing the men are always blamed. Take adult content like OnlyFans. The men that are paying for it are lonely and I have read that most of the men paying are married. They probably aren't having sex with their wife so they resort to this kind of thing. They are being blamed for buying the content but if the women didn't make it then men wouldn't buy it. Again, the buyer is being shamed but not the seller of the content.
