Man, Im loving this new life. I dont remember being single being so awesome. As for dating, Im not there yet but I'm on the apps getting a feel for the current landscape. I will never get married again for sure.

Or two hours. In this day and age, seeing professionals is, in many respects, be vastly superior to dating, and unquestionably superior to marriage.

Two things to note. First, in many cultures, this is both legal and accepted, and it's the U.S. that's the backwater. Second, read this forum and others about this. You'll see more than a few truth bombs in which seasoned divorcees concede, in full honesty, their part-time and even paid relationships are the most honest relationships of their lives. Believe it.

My STBX was a covert narcissist undergoing a midlife crisis with a substance abuse problem layered over the top, just for good measure.

Marriage didn't fail because of my lack of effort, I'll say that.

I know I'm at my best in a LTR. It's how I'm wired.

I'm in a new relationship with a really sweet woman who is 180 degrees from the STBX. Does it have legs? We are both pretty confident it does.

Time will tell.

Sounds like you have a lot of healing to do. Be careful but also don't paint everyone with the same brush. Take the time to work on yourself and heal, it takes a long long time.

Work on yourself, find peace, enjoy life. Protect yourself with future relationships, not everyone is your Ex.

I like the idea of 24 hours, I used to tell people, 1 year relationships sounds ideal or a 1-5 year relationship.
