My 5 year old has a peanut allergy, every single ingredient is studied with a fine tooth comb. It's shit what's happened but fuck me, trust is imperative in these situations, break the trust then you need to face the consequences

What the hell is the matter with you?! Holy shit. Why do I get the feeling that this kind of recklessness pervaded your entire previous relationship? My ex was dumb as a bag of bricks. She got CPS called on her recently because she isn't the brightest crayon in the box. Glad that broad is with someone else now. Ugh. Good riddance.

Any injury to a child needs to be treated with seriousness of course, that’s first and foremost.

An injury however shouldn’t be turned into a means to take away one’s parenting time.

Mistakes happen and kids get scrapes bumps and knicks all the time or as a female family court lawyer said before “kids are generally rambunctious and prone to injury”, we shouldn’t be so quick to point the finger and label him a poor father or parent for that matter.

To the op, yes you do need to pay more attention to these things if in fact your son has a severe allergic reaction to any item or food. If something can harm your son you need to avoid it all costs.

Comparing a kid tripping and breaking his teeth to feeding a child a package labeled PEANUT M&Ms when they have a serious allergy is insane. Its not abuse, but it's clearly neglect and absolutely piss poor parenting.

What if you guys were still married and this happens… is it still abuse?

Because you’re no longer together anytime your kid becomes ill or is injured does that mean abuse?
