Hi divorced men (am soon going to be one). I believe the facts are on my side in the divorce case, but I’d like you to give me some advice. My goal is full legal custody of my kids, and I’m prepared to fight tooth and nail.

Here’s the situation:

  1. My spouse is a narcissist. Marriage therapy didn’t work, even the therapist appeared visibly fed up with her.
  2. She has not been caring for our toddler children. They have slept exclusively with me for the past year. If I’m late returning home, she sends them back to me.
  3. I, along with my parents, take care of them daily: playgrounds, activities, dinner, etc. Only occasionally does she take them out, usually to meet her friends and their kids. The kids don't go to school yet.
  4. I have voice recordings of her discussing infidelity with lovers and with friends. When confronted, she said, “You made me do it.” (I’m unsure how useful these recordings will be in court though, but letting you know.)
  5. I have video (s) (recorded on my therapist’s advice when any situation escalates) of her hitting me while my children were crying. She partially hit them while trying to hit me.
  6. I have text messages where she admits and apologizes for hitting me multiple times, including threats to falsely claim abuse so the police would take me away. There are pictures in the texts where my hand is swollen.
  7. On one occasion, after slapping me, she said the next day, “Be a man and take it, I just hit your face, no big deal.” She regularly insults me, calling me a loser, saying I have no spine, am not a man and provoking me to escalate. I haven't done so. I have never hit her back.
  8. I paid for her master's degree with my inheritance.

What are your advice in current situation. Divorce process is about to start. Help me get my kids safe who think the world of me and I of them.
