If you've been developing in the ways you should have been for the past 6 years, then that gap is too big. At 18 you still think like a high schooler. You likely have 16 year old friends you see regularly. You get your parents permission to stay out late or go out of town. That's not someone who should be dating an adult man with a career and who knows who they are. She doesn't know who she is yet, and you can accidentally fuck this girl up by making her pretend to be grown when she isn't.

We're past this as a society, if you're above college age then anyone you date should be too.
