In my experience you need to have chemistry with the other person.

Ive had friends who tried to be wingmen who were constantly saying dumb things and cockblocked me or were stupid enough to hit on the girl I was interested in.

But I also have two guys who we got great chemistry, can communicate just with a node and have been super effective among girl groups.

Bonus, I also have a female friend who is great wingman and hooks me up with many of her friends constantly. This is a game changer

Yea been there done that. A wingman is more than just a friend. He gotta be on the same page with you, bonus point if he almost “can read your mind” like if you wanna approach then he assists so you can do a layup, or vice versa.

Like most women, most guys have no idea how to approach a stranger, from open to close. Let alone helping someone else do it.

Buddy we’re in the same boat; I solo my day games and night games; and I get more action when I’m alone because I don’t have hindrance or wingmen turned cockblockers; I have a reputation in my locality as a PUA and because of that a lot of guys come and hang around me to mooch of my opening on convos, in which case most of the time if they are there I end up wing-manning for them; they don’t even realize that they’re cockblocking, then there are the good ones, who are on the same page, when they see that you’re on chemistry with a girl, they will systematically ditch and give you some privacy, which is what a good wing should do, I’ve got a few of them who don’t bother me when I’m with a girl and others who try and capitalize; the area is small as well so I can’t just tell them to beat it because I’ll see them again at some point….

To answer your question yes, it works…. The conditions…. The wing must know when to ditch and also his main goal if she’s got company is to get her friends away from her so you can work your charm, the wrong person will try and impress your girl which is uncool, the right person as a wingman puts you first and himself second…. Trust me…. I’ve had to wingman one too many

I’ve pretty much only ever had one good wingman. He pushed me to get past my discomfort and nervousness, and he had a gf already so he didn’t care about getting girls himself, but unfortunately, I had to move to a different city from him.

A wingman is for the most part social proof. It immediately eliminates any idea you might be a creepy loner if youre with a friend. But of course, no help is better than bad help. It all depends on the wing and what he does. It generally is easier to approach groups as a group yourself and your wing can occupy some of the attention of the others while youre on your target. But also, just find someone you enjoy hanging out with as opposed to a "wing" specifically. People naturally gravitate towards people having fun.

Wingmen are helpful because they distract other women. If you approach a group of girls it is very difficult to open them up because majority of them have to be open to it because women are very vulnerable to group think. With a wingman women can be distracted more and if one of the girls starts to take a liking to you there is a better chance they stick around unless your friend is a weirdo or non-engaging. Trust me I’ve open alot of groups and it gets draining to the point its not as fun as having someone to help you out.
