I see this claim commonly whenever a woman with an OnlyFans (or any equivalent) posts something political, scientific, human rights related, etc - and it often doesn’t matter how good or well put together her argument is, she is automatically dismissed by men largely because she is a SWer - and a lot of this happens in person too, a woman’s moral or intellectual worth is often judged by whether she does sex work or not, or even the kind of sex she might enjoy.

You don’t have to date SWers - to be clear and to get it out of the way quickly - this is NOT what I’m saying, though I also do find it to be a funny irony that the same people who actively talk about merit and the contents of one’s argument - ‘facts first’ and all that often reject someone based off their perception of their character, as well as their perception of their moral standing or intellect - when they don’t make any good effort attempt to engage with the substance of what they’re saying.

I think two things are in play here - the first being that many men focus only on the character being played and make no effort to engage with the person playing the character. Prior to transitioning, I’d see both sides of some strippers (of course, some aren’t the most intelligent), but others will put up this fun, sexy character on stage or when giving a lap dance and then when out on a smoke, or on a social media platform they start talking very intelligently. This even applies to women who sleep around a lot but who otherwise have normal careers and could even be high earners, of course some are unremarkable, but others are extremely intellectually and philosophically stimulating if you showed yourself to be into more than sex (and to be clear I don’t mean ‘more than sex’ to mean relationships, I also mean friendship or even just acquaintances)

I think the second factor goes back to the good ol’ objectification (which I think is the largest factor) - once you’ve moved to ‘sex object’ territory, you’re stuck in that box and nothing will change that. The multi dimensional nature of human beings truly doesn’t matter in this instance because who you are is decided for you.

There is also the larger moral debate of ‘why is this even wrong in the first place?’ which I won’t get into now cause that’s another question, though it is worth asking: why is sex work, kink or whatever even wrong in the first place?

And to be clear, while I don’t care if a future partner of mine sleeps around, I wouldn’t date a SWer (even if she only does online SW and happens to be a virgin or not sleep around… which happens more then you think) - the point isn’t to have people change their dating preferences, the point is to call out the treatment of others based off sexual preferences and limiting people to a narrow lens.

And of course, not all men. If you don’t believe this or don’t do this, this obviously doesn’t apply to you.
