Because it happens to everyone. Because life is short and no one will stay fixated on your one attempt to spark a. Genuine conversation. There are also actual metric based ways to assist in getting rid of social anxiety in this respect but most of the work is really mindset

you think rejection is this big, crushing event

but most of the time it’s just… a short, slightly awkward moment

You don’t think your way out of fear of rejection. You rep your way out.

The fastest method I’ve found after 20 years of coaching is immersion therapy through something called the Kickstarter Cheers opener. In a bar, make eye contact, smile, raise your glass to mid-chest, say “Cheers.” She cheers back on autopilot. It’s a social reflex, not a judgment of you. You introduce yourself, short exchange, easy exit.

That’s it. No lines, no routines, no pressure.

The reason it works for killing rejection fear specifically is that the stakes are almost zero. You’re not asking her out. You’re not confessing attraction. You’re saying one word. And she almost always responds positively because social etiquette basically requires it.

Do ten of these in a night. Don’t camp, don’t force it, don’t attach to any outcome. Just reps.

When someone doesn’t respond, and occasionally they won’t, do the rejection reframe: elbow in, quietly say “yes” to yourself. You took action. That’s the win. Your nervous system needs to learn that rejection doesn’t kill you before it’ll stop treating every approach like a life or death situation.

The fear doesn’t go away before you start. It goes away because you started.
