Assuming they could pass a literacy test after being denied generations of formal education or somehow come up with an absurd amount of money for poll taxes.

Sure, white women weren't allowed to vote, but they were at least still protected by the system and culture. If a black man so much as looked at her funny, all she had to do was pretend to be scared and he would probably be lynched or taken to a "trial" where he would be found "Guilty" or "Not Innocent" and then killed or imprisoned for life.

This is just vile. Women consisted up to 40% of the slave owners in the south. Mind you not just white women but also mixed race women. Substantial amounts of compensatory money was given to former slave owning women by the British government when it became illegal to own slaves.

“Back in the day” a fine, upstandin’ Southern belle lily white lady could get a ni- I mean, slavery-challenged individual- severely beaten or lynched by merely suggesting they’d been looked at lustfully by a black man. Both before and after the whole chattel slavery thingy, mind you, so the “back in the day” reference harkens to never. That degree of white girl power doesn’t exist for a group considered “NOT PEOPLE…“ as opposed to the lynched man who had no recourse whatsoever as a “not person” himself. So staying at home and having to look after children/household is a bigger level of oppression than being used as disposable slaves with a higher mortality rate? Like the whippings, heavy labour, risky works.. these are something they expect humans to be treated like, haha!

And by the way black people in general I'm talking about. Black men as well as black women have not faced less oppression than white women have.

I first encountered this 20 years ago in college. It is one of the few times I was stunned into silence. I incorrectly assumed no one would be dense or brazen enough to make a claim so easily is disproven.
