Well, my life isn’t everyone preference, so understand the diversity of the world and move on if you got a problem.
I’m a gay man, mid-30s, been with my husband for over 13 years, we met in our early twenties. We finally decided it was time for a divorce, mutual decision, but I’ve actually never lived on my own. The worst part is I have no family, we have no kids, and it’s just me.
There is some mild excitement for looking at the world with eyes of “where can I go?” But I have no roots anywhere, so at times it feels so incredibly lonely. Recently, we moved to a state the past few years, but it’s so expensive to live here by myself (East Coast).
I have a master’s degree (licensed therapist), so a job is really anywhere that I can speak English.
Idk…just wow, looking into the future seems so blank, even knowing I’ll be alone on holidays.
Just so many thought, I’ve always wanted to live in Norway, Ireland, or Scotland, so—have been thinking about finding a cheap, quiet town to save up more money and head over there.
Ugh….over 13 years with someone, what is it even going to be like? Feels like he’s always been there, we essentially grew up together.
Idk…
