Ok. So the first meeting between the lawyers and the judge was supposed to happen next week. This week I met with mine to review the mandatory document exchange items and the counter filing in order to prepare for the next stage.

While going through things basically preparing to refute my STBX’s support claim (but my new lifestyle), her upcoming travel plans came up. We basically concluded that she was going to go on a cruise by putting it on her credit card. On top of two other trips she took to each coast (also on credit). There’s also a planned trip later in the year seemingly. But all of these trips are flights to somewhere, hotels, restaurants, etc.

Then my lawyer asked me if I’ve travelled since I’m questioning these expenses as ultimately I’ll wind up with what would be half of the expense. And I disclosed some short road trips to go tent camping.

She basically said that that needs to stop if I want to have any standing questioning my spouse’s travel expenses.

The dichotomy is staggering and seems ridiculous to even equivocate these two things.

What say you all? I will follow her guidance of course but seriously… this seems unbalanced.

What experiences have you all had around things like this? I needed to get away because we live in the same house still… and this seemed like the best way to preserve my mental health over being trapped in my own home.
