Is marriage still worth it for men today, or is it too risky?

Neither getting married nor having kids is worth it for men today. The courts are rigged against men, and divorce is a leading cause of male suicide. Almost all alimony and child support is paid by men to women, and the penalties for non-compliance are stiff. And when a marriage ends, it’s almost always the man who’s going to be blamed, regardless of who’s actually at fault.

The parasitic system will keep running if men keep paying into it.

Men, don’t sign a contract that rewards the other party for breaking it.

If the focus is based on various financial metrics and a lack of trust, and independance, then it is not worth it.

If the is a focus on mutual dependance, by both parties and companionship over the longer term, then this does also imply there is trust. This creates a stable foundation. In this case it is worth it.

Things to look at is trust, character, some common interests. These should be some of the metrics used.

Men need to stop thinking about this as a marriage issue: depending on your locale, relationships are considered defacto marriages that don't even require cohabitation to be considered equivalent to marriage under the law. At the moment, a relationship is considered defacto marriage if existing for about 2 years, but that could change in future, especially if a child is involved. I would not be surprised if a one-night-stand eventually gets treated as a defacto marriage if there is a child resulting and that child not necessarily be the male partners offspring.
