Look, I know people already do slap the “misogyny” label on lots of things without a valid reason, but now they got to the point where they just say that men committing suicide is misogynistic is something that blows my mind and makes me completely lose my hope in humanity. They just blame ABSOLUTELY everything that men do, EVEN the men who suffer and succumb to their mental illnesses, they just find a way to make it about WOMEN. Men can’t be seen as victims of anything, including of their own suicide anymore and it breaks my heart.

“I couldn’t find anything relevant on Google / other Reddit posts” OF COURSE you don’t because you’re making these stuff up! The reason suicide gap exists is because men are facing stigma for expressing their issues and emotions + fear of being falsely accused of crimes when they report the abuse that they experience, NOT because men are hating women.

You can probably see by my text how much this screenshot makes my blood boil.

IMO Gynocentrism is partly responsible for both the rise in white supremacy and gang violence in urban areas. Because, when you don’t hold space in society for your sons, and support their lives, education, and development, they will find a space for themselves. They will also resent you for excluding them and not recognizing their value, because they know their own worth and always will. And within the space they are forced to create for themselves, they will exclude the ones who excluded them, continue to hold resentment for them within that new space.

If you’re looking for an actual conversation, 10% of male suicides, are actually murder/suicides which like the post mentioned are usually family annihilators, as in harm their wife or their kids or both. Guns are the most common weapon in suicide & also murder/suicide. That may not be what the post was referencing though.

Edit: someone actually posted the link below and I think the first comment (the one you can’t see fully here) actually did a decent job explaining what was going on.

Because feminism hardly likes to think that maybe, just maybe, someone else of male gender (oppressor/aggressor defined) could possibly suffer as bad or worse as they (statistically) might in terms of offing themselves.
