What is this sub's general consensus regarding Paul Elam?

What is the purpose of asking this question?

Do you think you can narrow the entire MRM down to one person?

Do you think Elam doesn't have the right to speak if people disagree with him?

Do you think feminists can poison the MRM against Elam by attempting to associate him with extremism, as more than a few seem to be trying?

Do you think men's issues should only be spoken of in polite, docile terms?

Do you think that it might be necessary for MRAs in areas where feminist activism has become rabid and irrational to the extent of aggressive and illegal acts to take a harder, louder, and more vehement stand than might be merited in a less hostile political environment?

Do you think other MRAs have any business telling Mr. Elam how to comport himself and conduct his activism?

Having read Mr. Elam's work - and I'm sure you must have, because why else would you be asking - what do you think his response would be to anyone who tried?

In light of that... why do you think your question is of any relevance?

Sometimes he gets carried away, and says extreme things that can be used against him.

But most of the time, he's spot-on, and a very effective advocate.

Don't agree with everything he says but he is one of the few people doing something. And that is better than nothing.

As with Feminism "not being a monolith" neither is the MRM.

Elam has written quite a few very good articles, and more than a few very powerful points. However his articles are written for people in the MRM, in such that they can be extremely abrasive to an outsider's world view.

He's controversial, and that's needed

/r/MensRights rarely does "general consensus." I don't intend that as a criticism - I think it's great.

I usually enjoy Paul Elam. I enjoy that he writes with enthusiasm and doesn't bow down to political correctness, and I enjoy that he's lived through more than a few years of this topic.

There is no consensus. Some love him, some hate him. I personally distrust him.

He is not the mrm...his opinions are his own and do not represent all of us. I agree with most of what he has to say but I speak for me, he on the other hand does not speak for me.

Paul, I like his writing. He sometimes talks over his radio guests, but he is aware & catches himself. He is doing great work.

JtO.. John is God, I love his rants. Sharp as a tack.
