One post here [1] got me thinking about suicide attempts. Probably most of us have our fair share of depression and drinking to forget.

Lets have a men and women of the same weight. Both of them drink bottle of whiskey just bellow lethal dose. Now my assumption is that men would be treated as 'alcoholic' and mocked for hangover. Women on other side would be treated as 'suicide survivor' and got all help she needs to recover.

My question is if there is any study on intoxication in relation to depression. Perhaps there is actually much more men's suicide attempts than is reported.
