Yep! Something similar happened to me. The important part in my case was that I misread the situation. She had commented on one of my posts, and then DM'd me saying she wanted to join me on one of my adventures. I was already thinking about going to the beach, so I invited her. Since we'd gone out before, I mistakenly assumed there might be something there, even though she'd already rejected my advances.

At the beach, I basically ended up organizing everything, which isn't unusual for me because I enjoy planning my own trips: kayaking, wine tasting, other activities, etc. But she was completely neutral about everything. No initiative, no enthusiasm, nothing. I genuinely felt like I was babysitting rather than enjoying the trip with someone.

Lucky for you, it was only dinner. My takeaway was that attraction alone isn't enough. I've learned not to go out with someone just because she's extremely attractive when there's no mutual spark or reciprocity.

Needless to say, I didn't score shit on that trip, but I'm actually glad it happened because I learned exactly what I don't like.

This is what it looks like, from the other side, when someone is 'thinking' instead of participating. It's exciting and stimulating for them in their head but for you, they're not present in the room and they're not doing anything.

It's actively difficult to stay engaged and interested when nothing is happening. Enjoyment is obviously based around being present and attentive - it's not that you're asking for anything more than basic participation and enthusiasm, the same thing what women are asking for.
