How detrimental are under-eye circles to a woman's looks?

Worst-case scenario: they'll take you down by 0.1 points on the 1-10 scale. Seriously, stop worrying.

As long as your fiancee thinks you're a 10, you're good. He might have love-goggles on (soon to be wife-goggles), but that's what love-goggles are for anyway.

I can relate to the OCD though. My face is asymmetric (the ear on one side is like a centimeter higher than that on the other side), and it drives me crazy whenever I look in the mirror. But no, don't let it get to you and make you feel haggard, tired, and old.

I'll leave you with this little quote I remember from a character in Grapes of Wrath:

Have you ever heard of oil pulling?

I started this for mouth hygiene using coconut oil, and noticed as a side effect the circles under my eyes lightening and going away after a week. Thanks to genetics, I've always had these circles.

I'm thinking as you're doing the pulling, it's also cleaning out the path to the sinuses and reducing the junk in there that causes the darkness.

Do a little bit of googling with "oil pulling" and dark circles under eyes and you'll notice other people have had this perk happen.

Hey lady, please don't worry! My wild guess is you pay way more attention to your dark circles than others do.

I'm in the same situation as you. I've always had dark circles under my eyes because of my thin, pale skin. Others tell me I'm beautiful, but I feel like the circles ruin my face. In reality they probably don't. I've had people tell me that they're not really that bad and if I try to be realistic I can see why worrying about such a little thing is completely stupid. But of course it's natural to worry a little bit. But we maybe shouldn't.

And do you know what? Some men even find them cute! Don't ask me why, haha.

Absolutely! You have it way better looks wise than a lot of women on this planet, so be happy for that and try to worry less! That's what I do.

Obviously everyone's body is different, and I'm not sure how much this product will personally help you since it sounds like you have something different from the standard puffiness/dark circles, but I find that the area around my eyes looks noticeably brighter every time after I use it. Try massaging the product into the affected area - it helps in absorption.

Don't worry too much about that, and be sure to drink a LOT of water. Your skin could be dehydrated. I know that "dark circles" run in my family as well, but their diet is terrible. The skin under everyone's eyes is always a little bit thinner and bags/wrinkles are inevitable.

Drink a lot of water
Brush on your makeup! Do not use a sponge, you pull your skin while applying concealer, foundation, etc.
Eat healthy, more often than not.
Use natural skin remedies such as a chilled cucumber slices & a bit of vitamin E from the capsules.
Try to avoid cigarettes, excess alcohol, and stress.

I sort of make up that I have a similar issue in my head. I am crazy about my eyes, though. Have you tried changing your diet around at all? Typically if I am eating pretty paleo then I won't have them, but if my SO and I go out for dinner and drinks then the next few days I do. It's weird.

I tend to be really nice to my skin, but I found a foundation that adjusts my skin tone really nicely. When I tried it on in the store it was literally night and day difference versus using another high quality foundation. The reviews and MUA that I've spoken with about this line of products have never been less then great.

Also, this eye gel is fantastic. I am obsessed.

Do you have bags or just dark circles? I would be so happy to have just dark circles because that can be covered with makeup. I have bags under my eyes alllll the time, like there's pictures of me when I was four years old and I just look tired. I think it bothers me more than it bothers anyone else TBH, and I'm willing to bet it's the same with you. Even if I don't wear makeup I put concealer under my eyes to minimize the bags and sometimes use a really light eye shadow around the inner part of my eye to make me look more awake.

In short, do what you can but don't stress over it.

I have the same thing. Right now I really like the garnier eye roller thing for dark circles. It's not super expensive either which is a plus.

Oil pulling is great! It has decreased the dark circles under my eyes, whitened my teeth, and increased my overall dental health. I use sesame oil and it works great for me.

I don't understand, how do they "ruin your face" if you have "great concealer" hiding them? Basically you just told me that you have a problem, but you have no trouble making it not a problem, but you want to know if it's still a problem?

I'm 17 and I get dark circles :( so it's not being old I think, just bad genetic luck
