Absolutely, I remember one guy I was seeing started comparing me to other girls out of nowhere and telling me “but you should do this, dress like this” I was annoyed and ignored him, obviously he got mad at me, he wanted to change me completely but he believed he was perfect and didn’t need to change like he was telling me to.

Avoid NVP LVP. Avoid anyone who puts you down, no slack just because you’re “friends” or family.

The people who’ve torn me down the most were sadly other women who were too insecure to keep that shit to themselves.

I haven't dared to sing from age 7 to age 26 because one teacher in elementary school made one comment, probably wasn't even thinking about it, and it hurt me so bad that I just stopped.

Took me 20 years and the knowledge that she died to overcome this. One comment.

I stopped singing because it felt like I was annoying him, bothering him whenever I want to talk about the music I like. I stopped randomly singing while doing chores/alone because I was no longer happy and my body knows that. During the latter part of the relationship, I barely listened to music altogether. I was so sad that I lost passion for such a huge part of my life. Thats when it hit me that there are people that will take you down and break you apart. Now, I have started singing again, exploring new music that resonates with me.
