This is really really sad. Doors should be held open for anyone who needs the door held open for them. The fact that you anticipate a man, attractive or not, to NOT hold the door open is just a sign of how far our society has crumbled.

I hope you realize your worth a bit more because even if you’ve gained some weight I’m sure you’re still a beautiful and amazing person and anyone decent is going to look beyond just your weight to treat you well.

Yessss! That's a HV move; when you treat everyone with the same intrinsic value regardless of weight gain, acne, disability or whatever it is that make people get treated differently. It's a shame it isn't the norm. Hopefully that changes.

I definitely feel you there. I’ve been dealing with a thyroid issue that has absolutely made me balloon up to an uncomfortable weight. I’m so shocked when men show me little kindness like this now. We deserve to be treated with respect, regardless of what we look like.

I feel that. I was talking to a fit dude and we even slept together and I just assumed he saw me as an easy fuck looking for "validation." We hooked up first and I thought it was going to be a one night stand. I asked why he kept taking to me considering he was fit and I wasn't- he said it's about "your mind." [English isn't his first language] and my size did not exactly matter. He was always excited to go workout with me and take me out on dates and hold my hand in public [so wasnt ashamed of being with me out in public], cook for me and just be there for me. And yet my ex ended up gaining weight too but refused to workout with me and complained about my weight. Like dude, you fat too and have the audacity to complain about my weight gain.

This guy ended up leaving the country because he was only here for work (and he let me know about that form the get-go... so no surpises). Really helepd open my eyes to how low my bar was set and what I actually deserve [regardlessof my size]. That dude was definitely a brick that was a lesson and blessing to help me get out of my pickme ways [along with FDS, of course].

I hate to be a downer but stay on guard. My STBX is considered attractive and I've learned he goes for larger women because they'll be "grateful" and he and men who think like him claim they are more likely to accept degrading sex acts because of that gratitude.

I'm not a fan of that sort of thinking but that's literally how these degenerates think. They share tips on being polite to bigger women so they can use them.

I know when I got sick and gained weight, I started getting way more compliments from strangers and asked out more. I thought it was very strange because I didn't look good. I was sick. Now that I've learned some of this it makes me feel sick in a different way.

Just be careful, them doing this stuff doesn't mean they're good people. They could be doing it because they're really awful people.

It's definitely in your head. I'm fat and I get treated well by most men in public. Before I began recovery from my ED I was the same weight but I had negative experiences w men all the time. Nothing changed except my confidence. No one treats me poorly anymore and if they do they are blocked/nexted/shaded into the next millenium.
