These observations probably can't be attributed to redpillers in general, however it certainly applies to me and I suspect I'm not the only one.

First of all, I'll define my terms. I don't think anyone here would disagree and I believe I even saw a thread here that drew a clear distinction between being Alpha and simply being a Redpiller. A redpiller is someone, who merely knows the actual rules of the game, so to speak, whereas an alpha is someone that actually succeeds at playing the game. The game being the various aspects of one's life, whether it be women, your profession etc. So, obviously I'm not referring to the game in a PUA sense.

An alpha is not necessarily a redpiller in the sense that he's aware of the redpill philosophy - he's just a guy who exhibits the traditional elements of masculinity, such as confidence, wit, both physical and intellectual competence etc. These traits help him to succeed in various aspects of his life.

In parallel, a redpiller is not an alpha and I would say that in most cases, they don't even exhibit traditional masculine virtues. I've come to this conclusion, because if it were the case, why would they ever end up at redpill in the first place? There's no need. Sobering betas, out of their frustration with women and other aspects of their social lives, search the internet for help and they stumble upon redpill. The main demographic of this reddit is obviously the beta male on his way to being alpha male. Obviously there are freak occurences, where an alpha stumbles upon redpill, because he wished to discuss the Matrix with someone, but these cases I consider to be neligible.

This however leads me to the topic of this thread - Natural Alpha vs Unnatural Alpha. After finding redpill, I've had moderate success with women and with my life in general. It has gotten better. However, I never feel sincere when applying redpill knowledge into practice. I'm literally faking it, faking alpha male qualities (apart from my body, which can't be cloaked). Whereas I believe in redpill, I've never actually felt alpha and honestly, I feel like a betamale masquerading as an alpha. Unfortunately, it works. Now, some say that 'fake it til you make it', but after all this time I've come to the conclusion that a redpiller can only ever 'fake it'. At least when it comes to me. I'll explain it below.

My cousin, I would say, is a textbook alpha. Physically strong, always maintains frame, doesn't let anyone walk over him and he has that carefree attitude to him - never gets upset, never seen him nervous, never loses frame. He's 38, very popular with women from early 20s to later 30s. He lives in the countryside, works as a tractor operator and hunts in his spare time. We both live in a former USSR country and as such, he doesn't bother himself with many of modern day conveniences, such as PC's, smartphones etc. Very old fashioned. I consider him to be a Natural Alpha - he lives the game without needing to know or even philosophize about the rules.

When I tried to explain the concept of shit tests to him, he just said with a stoic calmness that he doesn't really think about his responses and says whatever comes to mind or what humors him.

This is where it dawned to me. Because I've become aware of the redpill philosophy, I've become incapable of divorcing my behavior and my conscious attitude towards my social interactions from my conscious awareness of redpill ideas, stock replies to shit tests etc.

My interactions never feel sincere, because I always stop to think ''Well, what would an alpha say, what would he do. How would Chateau Heartiste respond to this shit test. Oh shit, my status is being challenged, how should I hold my frame'' etc. Because I've practiced, I don't need to think long at all and I have stock answers prepared to stock questions and stock shit tests. I would write down social situations/shit tests I did have trouble with and develop witty responses, which I would memorize and deploy in the future. As such, I mimic the behavior of alpha yet I'm not alpha. I consider myself to be an unnatural alpha, perhaps more accurately a pseudo alpha, but not a natural alpha.

So while the behavior of my cousin and me is objectively comparable and share objective similarities - the locomotive that drives such behavior is qualitatively different. I feel that he is more pure, more sincere and thus, natural - whereas I'm a fraud. And the tragedy is that the differences of outcome are not big at all, if any. Faking works too. It works pretty good actually. But that's not enough for me anymore.

Does anyone else feel this way? Or am I the only who's faking it?

EDIT: I would say that this is the true tragedy of the redpill for me. Literally. By taking the red pill I've become aware of the rules, but by taking the pill I've removed my possibility of ever becoming a sincere alpha male. Maybe Cypher was right and ignorance is bliss. If I ever have a son, I'll raise him with redpill tenets while never using the terminology and never referring to it as an ideology. That way, he'll learn by example and will never have to theorize or calculate his own interactions.
