Women are very much herd animals. That's why a group of women will go piss together at a club, listen to the same music, think the same guys are hot, etc. Going against the herd risks shaming or shunning. Fitting in with the rest of the herd is deeply ingrained into their opinions and views.

She gave a very generic and socially acceptable answer because although her girlfriends were not there, she forgot herself and was trying to appease the herd.

Of course, being guys, you called her on her bullshit (something that women won't do because they'd rather affirm each other with good feels) and she probably was flabbergasted and genuinely confused for a moment.

Edit: TL / DR - She gave the socially correct answer because women care a lot about how they are viewed by others, to the point where she can rationalize it to herself as being true.

One of the ways of dealing with women mentioned on the subreddit is to treat women like children. The same way she may have justified her cheating (had she done so) by making it less reprehensible (no PIV, her SO has been a jerk etc.), she also justified that you were actually a nice guy. Perhaps because you aren't abusive towards her, just towards other people, who knows. But once she admits to herself who and what you are, she accepts accountability for her choice and becomes by extension responsible for your actions (because it would be within her means to stop you or at least correct you, to "safe" you from your ways). Probably even worse, it would be her own fault for sticking around with you if things go south between you - instead of painting herself retroactively as the victim once you break up "Oh God, JaglesupaTree was such a jerk, how could I have not seen how he deceived me!"

Yes and yes. Girls honestly think they love nice guys. They go out seeking such guys and think assholes are nice guys. Actual nice guys they think are deceptive and trying to trick them into loving them.

I noticed this crazy paradox when I first began pickup. I was a real mind fuck for me trying to understand it. How can girls not realize that what they are seeking in men leads them to assholes? Normally, even when someone does something dangerous, they know it's bad and dangerous. Extreme sports people know that extreme sports are dangerous. When I trade in the stock market I know that I could lose a ton of money. But women honestly don't know that their sexual preferences lead them to assholes who do not treat them well.

That is when I realized the truth. I call it "The Ultimate Deception Technique". The ultimate deception technique is to lie to yourself as well as to those you are trying put one over on. It is self deception. It's the same extreme shit the CIA or KGB do to brainwash their operatives so they don't even realize they are spies until they've accomplished their mission.

Logically, a person will seek out what is good for herself and avoid what is bad for herself. What is good includes getting physical needs met, emotional needs met, avoiding dangerous situations, and avoiding emotional trauma. Also, as a social animal, a woman will want to climb to social ladder by associating herself with high value people who are not scorned and condemned by society. In every one of these areas, a bluepiller will yield superior results than an asshole. So why do women seek out assholes?

Logically, they would not. Nature doesn't give a fuck about your happiness. Your genes are just using you to accomplish their own ends. Nature has devised a method to trick women into selecting bad boys instead of good guys: pleasure and lying. Women simply feel more pleasure of various types (gina tingles, increased self esteem, more powerful orgasms during rough sex, etc) with bad boys than good guys. Some women are even conscious of this fact and lament that they can't be sexually attracted to bad boys. Also, nature lies to women. The brain is simply a construct implementing a design in your dna. By controlling dna content, you can control the content of the brain. (The brain is also heavily shaped by experience and self programming though but I don't have time for that here). Nature has planted the information into their brains of women that good guys are lower value than bad boys (even though they are held in higher esteem by society at large so they should be considered as higher value). Also, it has planted the idea into the brains of females that being nice is a form of manipulation (even though assholes also act nice to women at first and have a phoney friendly facade at first).

Typical woman behavior is to seek out a man and then try to break him by betaizing him at which point she will dump him. However, doing this is a mean thing to do so most people would resist doing this. Also, it's obvious that doing this is self defeating since it doesn't just ruin the man's life, it also ruins your own life. Why would anyone undertake the years long arduous work of betaizing a man when it yields no reward and lots of punishments for yourself? No on would. In order to FORCE women to undertake this insane course of action, evolution has made women completely unaware of their own self-defeating relationship desires. Basically, a woman is lying to herself and unaware of her true nature just like those sleeper agents I mentioned before. A women is like a living weapon. She genuinely believes her behaviors are benevolent even though in truth they only serve to destroy the happiness of those she loves and herself.

This is one of the great dichotomies about women and why men have such a hard time understanding them. Women instinctually understand male/female interaction on a way men can't fathom, but they do not consciously understand or even realize it. It is rather amazing to see it in person like this. This is where all of the rationalization comes from and why women always give terrible advice on how to get other women.

This is also why when a woman says her body betrayed her, it is likely literally true. She acted on a purely instinctual level and didn't recognize her own actions until after the fact due to guilt.

Women who are able to recognize their behavior consciously are the type of women you marry. Those that can't, do not ever get into an LTR with them. Sadly there are vastly more of the latter than the former.
