Do you get or give numbers?

It's better to get hers so you have the initiative. It's a beta move to let her decide when to contact you. It also puts you in a position where you risk starting to wonder, 'why hasn't she contacted me.'

I have them type their numbers into my phone. Then I call their phone immediatly so they have my number. This also confirms they didn't 'accidentally' mistype their number.

You can do it the other way (give her your number), if you're SMV is so high that the girl will contact you or you don't care if she calls you. But why take that risk?

I walk up to a girl make about 30 seconds of small talk then hand them my phone I tell her put her phone number in my phone with a name I will remember. This gives them a chance. then I call it and make sure it rings on there phone. the entire process is 3-5 minutes.

I prefer to get their number. Second is exchange both our numbers. Rarely, if ever, do I only give mine.

If you ever get the chance, go to end of a networking conference of some sort. People love to hand out business cards in these places and if you walk in at the end, you'll be walking on top of a field of thrown out business cards. This is exactly what's going to happen when you give out your number, she's going to toss it like it's a useless piece of paper. I always hand my phone over and tell her to put it in. Easier that way. They even like to make their name try and stand out so I remember them, ex "Sexy Jesse" was the last one I got.

get is better, but there have been circumstances where i didn't feel like pushing it and it was more expedient to give. women are pretty unlikely to reach out to a dude unless there's a strong reason, though i've had it work out sometimes.

but really, i have had a girl say "let me get your number" and i handed her my phone and said "here" and she put her number in.

There is a strategy to giving your number despite what these guys might think. I'm not expert but it seems like a longer term play. See a girl regularly like a neighbor and it might help you build 'frame.' If you see her everyday it's too late for the initial impression, but she'll still wonder why you don't ask. If you see an opportunity to help her, giver her your number, but make sure it comes across as I don't need your help, but you might need mine. Girls love that white night shit, just be prepared to say hi next time you see her and go from there. She ain't gonna call unless she's ready to hang out.

Text her your number.

Have her type her # into a blank text message on your phone, and then hit send. That way you have her number and confirmed it is real all in one step. And you've broken the text message ice. Later you can go back and put in her name so you don't forget it.

I don't ask, because the answer will be a lie. I "get" numbers later through talking about it and taking a guess.

I don't usually give numbers, either. I just say something to the effect of "well, we both know I'm experienced" after I've done her. Before I've done her, I'm a little more aloof.
