I'm having trouble on the fly differentiating between the two when the situation is kind of ambiguous. She's roughly 6 weeks pregnant so no belly or weight increase yet.

Easy Example 1, couple days ago after sex wife wants a glass of water. Her side of bed is closer to the door. I tell her go get it and bring me some too. She goes gets it and no problem. She's still happy. I assume it was a small shit test or not a test at all.

Hard Example 2, last night she looks in the kitchen cabinet for Tylenol and can't find it. She has a headache. She wants me to go to her salon in our basement and get her a bottle of tylenol. She's closer to the stairs to go and knows where it is. I don't know where she keeps it there and at that time I'm fixing a coworker's laptop. It's just the two of us and our daughter is asleep. I'm thinking it's a shit test. I guess it could be a comfort test due to pregnancy but all signs of shit test are there. She's closer, it's easier for her cause she knows where she left it and I'm working on something else.

I tell her no, go get it herself. She starts to get in a huff saying she walked up and down the stairs enough this day implying it could hurt the pregnancy. Now note that she weighs in 120s, goes to the gym with me and squats 5x5 three times a week. Stairs are nothing when you do squats. I assume it's a bullshit excuse cause she's feeling lazy.

I tell her you're closer, you've got legs, go and get it. She goes and when she comes back says I ruined everything implying about her mood for sex. That along with her display of laziness killed any desire I had for her that evening. I tried no to show it though. I didn't respond to that and ignored her. I finished working on the laptop and went to bed where she joined me still mad at me though. I didn't initiate anything. Instead I turned on prerecorded GOT and after we watched it we immediately fell asleep.

This morning everything is fine, she laid her head on my chest and I played with her hair. Nothing sexual, but I was getting up to go to work soon.

Was example 2 a shit test or a comfort test? I'm not sure but if I'm not sure I will err on the side of failing a comfort test and my default response will be a no. Is this a right strategy even when she's pregnant?
