I have a newfound peace with being a SAHM.

I knew cognitively that it was the right decision, but for a long time, I still felt like a leech. It's the 1 year anniversary of my SAHM-ness, and I finally feel in my heart, a sense of calm and peace. That nagging urge that I should be out there, "contributing to society" and "bringing home the bacon" is slowly going away.

I enjoy picking my daughter up from school and having her friends over or running her around town to get supplies for some school project or whatever. I really enjoy spending time with other SAHWs, and I think that maybe raising a good child and being there for my husband and for my friends when they need help is another way to "contribute to society." (We make meals for sick families and organize social events and play dates for kids, etc) I am grateful that I get to live in a community where being a SAHW isn't considered unusual.

Cast iron skillet. It's funny how sometimes the simplest change can bring a new excitement to an old "chore." My husband bought me a cast iron skillet, and I have been having so much fun making new dishes. I love when you make a dish on the stovetop and then pop it in the oven for a broil. So neat! (Also, I find the aesthetic of the classic iron pan really pleasing.)
Phone calls with my husband. I love hearing about his day and just spending time with him on the phone. We may have to spend a few weeks apart (his work), but I still feel connected.

Bonus question: Kindle or current book I'm reading. Being stuck somewhere like a doctor's office without a book is torture. I don't want to watch Flip or Flop or kids on a reality cooking show while I'm in the waiting room. And all the magazines seem to be about golf or celebrities. Blah.

1) I'm grateful for the weekend my SO and I just had. I had a hectic and stressful week and didn't have enough time to clean or cook like I usually do before having guests over, but my SO had Friday off and took care of the bigger ticket items and was super cuddly and affectionate and seeing that really helped me get my stress/attitude/perspective in check, and we had a really chill, relaxing weekend even with guests.

2) I'm grateful for the rocking chair I found at a thrift store last night while on a "mystery date" with SO, and that my SO was up for the hassle of getting the chair back to our home even after a long day at work for us both

3) I'm grateful that I misplaced some pantry items a few weeks ago because I really needed them this week but was already at my grocery budget limit, but then I found the misplaced items this morning!

Always in my purse? An external charger for my phone. I read a lot on my commutes and I play Pokémon Go on my walks, both of which KILL my battery like nobody's business.

I AM SO GRATEFUL FOR MY WONDERFUL HUSBAND!! After 6 months of unemployment, spending my last 3 months of pregnancy by my side, and the first 3 months of our son's life...HE GOT HIS DREAM JOB!! Having him by my side during these 6 months has been so heavenly! He left his last job because they wanted him to relocate, and he didn't want to. We've waited almost 2 months to hear back from this job, he had his interview in January. We didn't give up hope; I knew he could do it! AND HE DID! He aced his interview and wowed em and got the job!!! Ahhh! I'm so excited!! I'm so proud of him!!
I'm grateful for the time my husband has been able to spend with me these past 6 months - it was truly, truly special and it's not likely something that we will ever get to have again. Ahhh, I'll miss him so much when he goes back to work, but that will make seeing his face walk in the door that much more special <3
I'm grateful for myself! I've been able to stick to my healthy eating plan - even after my SIL tried to offload some cupcakes on me yesterday lol! I'm losing weight, and I feel SO AMAZING! It's only been a week, but it's been easier than I thought. It feels great :)

BONUS: A water bottle! I hate being without it. Even if I'm taking a quick trip in the store, if I don't have my water, suddenly I get intensely parched! I have a pink Nalgene with a sport top straw, and I'm just in love with it. I have to bring it everywhere! I just wish it fit in my purse a little better, as it's a 32 oz bottle. But if I could magically have a tiny bottle of water in my purse at all times, that would be great!

1) I'm grateful that my husband works the long, hard hours building our business so that someday we can have kids and I can stay home with them. I admire his dedication so much!! Some days he leaves at 5am and doesn't make it home until 9-10pm! I'm always in awe of that.

2) I'm grateful that we were able to sit down and work out my quit date for work. I'm excited to be a stay at home wife this time next year!!

3) I'm grateful that the weather is getting warmer!! Slowly but surely! Fifty degrees feels great when it was 14 just last week!!

Bonus: well, at this very moment my keys are in there. Gonna need those to do anything for the rest of the day!

I am so beyond grateful that I have such a hardworking fiancé. He just had an 8 day week working 11 hour shifts every day. He's such a boss, and appreciate how hard he works to make sure we have a good and stable life.
I am grateful that I've had the ability to try some new recipes lately! We were getting tired of eating the same things all the time, and working to improve my cooking ability has brought us some seriously tasty dinners!
I am grateful for God's presence in my life, and knowing that even though times are a little rough right now things will get better as long as I have faith.

Bonus question: I would keep my little bag of chips lol, nothing like being out running errands and realizing you haven't eaten all day and your stomach starts begging you to go home and make some lunch.

I am thankful to join in on a trip with my mom and aunts near where I live.
I am thankful to my husband for carrying the burden of providing for or family and finding a new job.
I am thankful for my son,who is so sweet and learning so much every day!

And bonus question. My Mascara because it's the one thing I always try to put on to make myself feel put together when I don't feel like wearing makeup.

I'm quite thankful that I managed to get my grandparents exercising this week, I have the time to get them into routine between studies and housework and heh will be all the more healthier :)
I'm grateful to my SO for being so thoughtful, I received a beautiful prose last week, the deepest, most treasured letter I have ever received.
I'm also very thankful I get to spend time with my family in the evenings once they get home. Since I am at home for study and maintaining the house, no one needs to rush and everyone can just relax, watch together or play together in the evenings.

Bonus: I need my hand sanitizer. Seriously, that stuff is a life saver! I can turn any tissue into a wipe, clean stains and just get rid of icky feelings when out eating, etc.

1- I'm grateful that my husband have spent time in therapy learning how to speak to each other in ways we can listen.

2- I'm grateful that my step son sees me as his motherly figure and comes to me in times of trouble.

3- I'm grateful for how my husband's steps up and really takes care of things when my arthritis flares and I can't really do much and helps me not feel bad about it.

The item I'd keep in my purse aside from my wallet? My handgun. We're a pro-2A family and don't live in the best city.

I am grateful for my husband's incredible motivation regarding his new job. When he was at his former job, he would come home quite depressed, but now when he comes back home he tells me about the stuff he's been doing at work and some funny stories about his colleagues. It's so refreshing to see him and hear him so cheerful!
I am grateful that my stepbrother decided to step up and take his new role of father very seriously. He made a lot of mistakes in his life, but it seems that having a child of his own gave him a serious motivation boost to get his life back on track.
I am grateful for Amazon. I manage to find things that I just can't find at all in brick-and-mortar stores here, and at a very good price too!

Bonus: It would depend if I'm in the city or the countryside/forest.

City: My cellphone.
Countryside/forest: Ironically, it's an item I don't even have yet (still shopping for the perfect one), but that would be an EDC knife.
