So our relationship was full of red flags. We started dating in our early 20s. I'll try to describe the relationship in short: love bombing, gass lighting, me being unpaid psychiatrist, him being unstable, selfish, whiny, lazy, unemployed, porn addict, everything fitting the description of LVM or even NVM, you name it. I stayed with him for so long, because I didn't know better. He was sensitive, never arguing, or violent, kinda funny, liked animals, future faking, educated and handsome and that was enough for me back then. So we had been in LDR for a while and in order to see him I had to travel 10 hours.

The last time we were together was in January and since then we talked regularly via phone, texting etc. But he started to be so boring just to piss me off - e.g. if we talked about anything else except his health and mental problems, he would say: yeah, okay, never mind, and was totally passive agressive. If I asked how are you, he'd say bad, if I asked: what were you doing today, he would say, nothing. I started to be more assertive and vocal about stuff, not only about us but in general. I really changed and wasn't his sweet, naive, supporting GF, as I always been. He started giving me a silent treatment regularly which I ignored until he messaged me again. But since April and the lockdown, there has been almost no contact at all. When I asked him why he hadn't spoken to me for such a long time, he'd say: but you haven't either. Which is true. But only because I knew that he's either pissed, or giving me a silent treatment or that he'd whined about his problems only if we talked. In June I was close to his place for a different reason and he knew about that but he wouldn't suggested meeting or anything. He just wished me luck for my exams. So after I got back home, I mentally broke up with him for good.

My reason that I haven't told him yet is, that it was 6 years we were together and I thought that it's stupid to break up over a text. So I wanted to do that in person. But he lives so far, that I don't wanna go there only to break up with him. Also we were in LDR for a while, with NC, so I feel like there isn't any relationship to break in the first place. So I feel like ghosting him right now. He will never break up with me himself, I'm sure. What do you guys think about ghosting after a long relationship? I just feel like I don't wanna deal with his nonsense anymore and that I'd actually do him a favor by breaking up with him via a text, after what he has done to me during six years together.
