And yet, I still miss my LVM ex husband. . . I did some queen shit. I am at the top of my game in my career. Filed for divorce, got full legal and physical custody, bought a freaking house!?! Yes- this 33 year old, hot as fuck, single-solo mom-to-one did that. I cleared up the credit that we ruined together, I am about done paying off my car. I look at myself and I know I am awesome. I’m funny, and hot, and intelligent, and compassionate. I’m a queen. And I follow FDS bc I found myself in a marriage with a man that my soul still thinks is the love of my life, he turned out to be a cheating, drug addicted loser. And I’ve seen the real him and the addict him. And I make excuses for him, apologize for him, ugh.. make myself small and petty and pickme for him. Logically I know - I KNOW - I deserve better. So it’s been 8 months, I’m learning from FDS, working on my self esteem and all my underlying reasons for loving this man. And, if I’m gonna be honest, I still miss him. I thought he was my person and I miss him and I never want another one, and I know I honestly don’t want him.. but the younger me inside, the one that thought he was her best friend, the one that would have staked her life on the fact that he would never have cheated or given her diseases or put her life in danger- that younger me still loves him. So I come here to level up with my fellow queens, read the handbook and learn from you, so in the dark parts I can talk to younger me, from the queen I am now, and love her and her broken heart through this. Younger me- you will be okay. It is okay to miss him, but I have you now/ I have your back and I will never give you the heartache he did.
