Part of the vetting I do on OLD (yeah I know but there aren’t a lot of IRL options right now especially where I live) is to ask a guy if he has Instagram or some other social media. I like to know what sort of opinions he has, what he looks like aside from a couple carefully curated pics, if he is less likely to be a murderer, etc. I can also see if he follows a ton of angry right-wing news sources or if his following list is comprised solely of Instagram models.

But sometimes I ask a guy if he has insta and he immediately unmatches me. Just happened today. I don’t think he was a catfish because he looked like an ordinary guy, so I’m wondering if this is behavior that turns people off? Am I doing something wrong?
