This fits at least 2 of my ex's and several other girls I know. Their dogs are monsters because they treat them like toy dolls instead of dogs. I've caught hell for "being mean" by not wanting to pick up and move the dog and instead insisting it come to me. The emotional relationship between them is beyond fucked up.

[–]TRP VanguardVZPurp16 points17 points18 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They should get cats instead. Seriously, if you can't train a dog, and want to behave like that with your pet, get a cat.

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points12 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Same here. Women are forgetting that these aren't human beings. I encounter this all the time.

My advice: run if you meet a woman that equates animals with people.

[–]pugderpants10 points11 points12 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I want to punch anyone, male or female, who treats their dog like a human. Dogs are so unhappy like that anyways. The trick to 99% good behavior is to be alpha as fuck 101% of the time. If you're 99% alpha, your dog will be more like 30% well behaved. After just a few times of getting flipped on her side, my blue heeler knows what's up. I can take food out of her mouth while she's fucking chewing it and she won't bat an eye. The result? She adores me and hang on my every word. That's what those "fur baby" people want, but they're never going to get it if they don't understand dog social hierarchy.

[–]MightyCrotch-1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Agreed. There's an allegory about human female happiness somewhere in your comment... I'm just too lazy to make it.

[–]pugderpants0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Hah. Well, human female here - and no offense, but that's the kind of shit my husband and I laugh at. I ain't no "guardian of the home", but thank god that's exactly what our beautiful, 35lbs-of-solid-muscle dog is.

[–]ohsweetword 8 points8 points8 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I detest people in my building who have dogs and I can hear them yapping as I walk down the hall. It pisses me off to no end that they are so selfish. They have a dog to feel less lonely, then they are too fucking lazy to walk it and stress the thing to death.

Luckily they don't live near me and the walls are proofed.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago [recovered] (0 children) | Copy Link

I think it's animal cruelty/neglect to keep dogs alone in an apartment. They need to run, and they need to be with other dogs or people.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Are you me? My ex's dog used to shit all over the place. Like everytime we went out, we would come back to shit on the floor. One time I sternly said "No (dog)". She got all upset when the dog was scared of me.

Thankfully, that's been over for months.

These are just cat ladies with a twist.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You can downvote me to hell, but I dont see anything wrong with this. Who really wants more kids? Sure i hate tiny dogs, but id take one to a baby anyday

Lower class people will continue to breed because the gov't encourages the poor to reproduce by way of welfare checks.

The nonreligious and educated will slow their reproduction down, while the religious right will continue to have children to ensure their religious continuance.

Immigrants kinda fall into the first category, along with minorities, as we are seeing a huge growth in the Hispanic population. The way things are going, immigration will eventually ease up (due to the rising hispanic vote) and the US will increasingly become more Hispanic, except now the immigration will be legit. Of course, the US is more than happy to supplement this growth, and culture will largely shift to the conservative, I believe.

I believe this because of the constant reproduction of the religious right, the increasingly growing Hispanic (catholic) population, and the fact that the US is entering our twilight years. With the end of economic prosperity comes a return to traditional roles between the sexes, as men are now incentivized to work hard, and women are pushed out of the workplace, both willingly amd unwillingly.

Maybe in the short term. I think most latinos are stereotypically democrats because of immigration, however, I could see latinos becoming more conservative once they're citizens

[–]cxj0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

This so much. The Republicans blew it so hard last election by being so anti immigrant.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Personally, I think if the GOP put a Paul/Rubio ticket up, it would be a done deal. Paul is extremely poular with young/independents, and Rubio is cuban and (obviously) Hispanic, and pro-amnesty. I am not for amnesty, but reform needs to happen. My mom got here the old fashioned way, marrying a young gringo ;)

[–]cxj0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I remember reading somewhere that young males are the lowest voting demographic. This was the explanation for why the aca targeted us: we were the group they stood the least to lose by burdening with taxes. My point in saying this is that if a politician could harness our vote in a serious way it might he game changing. I hope Paul could do that!

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I think he could. He speaks to us, right here, US. He has a huge following with young people because of his father, and he is very popular with Gen Y because of his stances against government intrusion on individuals. I saw that the media/GOP has been talking about putting Jeb Bush up to run and I just about shit my pants. The GOP needs to start diversifying it's interests and putting better people up there. McCain was a joke, but Obama was going to win no matter the candidate. Romney was meh, but the time of Rich white guys winning is over. Need to get the brown vote to win, as was exemplified by 2008/12

[–]cxj0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's possible. Democrats would be taking a big risk running hillary in spite of the feminazi regime we are living under. Romney SHOULD have won in 2012, and WOULD have if Republicans had framed the campaign in terms of the economy, but instead they foolishly let it be defined in terms of emotional social issues, ie gay marriage and immigration. It's shit like that that makes me wonder WTF are they thinking. Tbh a real problem is that there are no serious candidates with any real VISION, the kind Reagan or FDR had... Romney Bush etc will just cut capital gains tax, estate tax, corporate income tax and allow abortions to get slightly trickier in confederate and flyover states. Democrats will just further expand the welfare state and redistribute already existing wealth without creating any new wealth.

[–]dman80001 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I am betting we will see the rise of advanced artificial intelligence well before this happens, which will drastically change things.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

[–]dman80000 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Its possible. Alternately, AI may become benevolent overlords who guide humans away from anything too selfdestructive.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Like weight lifting. or sex. Or anything done for the sake of fun.

I, for one, welcome the death of our robot overlords.

[–]watersign-3 points-2 points-1 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Yup, the amount of muds (blacks and latinos) producing is disgusting. These vermin just consume, consume consume...

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

As someone who is of mixed decent, I think your comment is both insulting and classless.

[–]watersign-3 points-2 points-1 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I stand by my comments 100%. This is THE RED PILL.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Social Darwinism. Cultures that support the family structure thrive. Many immigrant cultures care for their elderly, support marriage, and support child-rearing. Modern "progressive" culture spits on traditional family structures, delays marriage and instills a fear of child-rearing... so maternal instinct pops up in other ways, like the new pet obsession.

When I was a kid, pets were accessories. Now people treat them like humans. I don't get it.

[–]Endorsed Contributormonsieurhire218 points19 points20 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Child-rearing has become so complicated; that alone deters people. And its expensive; another deterrent. Plus, you have a mass culture where selfishness is extolled.

On the latter point, once I over heared two 30-40 somethings discussing how there was no point to having children because you couldn't enjoy their company until they were much older.

All I could do is shake my head.

Some people prefer it that way though.

To me, it just seems empty; people compensating for a family with their masturbatory habits, like that guy in 40-year old virgin.

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points13 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Starting a family can also be compensation for an uninteresting life.

[–]Endorsed Contributormonsieurhire20 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You can have a family and an interesting life, it's just that most people lack the creative faculties to do that.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

True, but it's a lot more difficult to travel, make career, spend energy on hobbies... Kids aren't very interesting, at least not to others.

[–]garlicextract-1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

When wasn't it, though? I think the extolling of selfishness (great choice of words btw) is the culprit here.

[–]Endorsed Contributormonsieurhire22 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

When you weren't coerced by law to matriculate your child into a very demanding public education regimen, subject to all sorts of rules and regulations. Before the age of video-games, quack-doctors with bullshit diagnoses, insurance company backed over-protection safety laws that make play illegal.

[–]otiswild[S] 18 points19 points20 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Guess there's only so many alphas to go around.

[–]therandomthrowaway15 points16 points17 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

It makes sense, since they are essentially still children themselves, incapable of dealing with taking responsibility for themselves, never mind a child. A kid is not a fashion accessory, or an extension of your social media persona.

I love dogs, but a dog dies in about 14-15 years. They'll raise these tiny dogs with indulgence, probably leaving them fat and in poor health. When the dog dies, their fertile years will be gone, and they'll live the rest of their lives with an empty feeling... at least subconsciously knowing that they had the greatest gift imaginable, the ability to create a human life that carries a part of you into the future past your death... and wasted it on a fucking poorly trained teacup dog.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

At one point in the future it will make no difference how many children you had. People feel more at ease with their own mortality by believing that they somehow live on in their offspring, but this is all completely irrational.

[–]dman80001 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Seems you touched a nerve. I think there are a few angry childfree men on the sub as well.

[–]ConfusedNooblet0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This sounds like most white professional women I know. For some reason, the non-white professional women still want children, not pets.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Your bloodline will end sooner or later. There is nothing special about having an offspring outlive you.

[–]tmpjb8 points9 points10 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

What about the possibility that a lot of girls just don't want kids? Incentives for kids have been reduced since they used to be a natural consequence of sex. I tihnk what's happening is that girls want companionship, and the pussy pass only goes so far especially when you are being pumped and dumped. I see young women ( usually meh looking ), always talking about being lonely when it's so easily for them to form relationships. Just look at r/foreveralonewomen. I guess they would rather share an alpha than be with a beta.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Women want access to high grade dick more than having a beta's kid. Sure, some have babies rabies but in our world of unlimited choice, these women overwhelmingly CHOOSE the high grade dick over betas and having kids.

Career women are usually the hardest for average men to satisfy, even with kids.

[–]anon101010106 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah also bitter women in their late 20ies. My ex is one of them. I saw it starting a trend based on Facebook profiles... So many tattooed females with big dogs, like staffs and pits.

Well good for us lol

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points10 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

These women are narcissists, plain and simple. Hit up a dating site, how many women have pictures of their many pets? I'm glad someone noticed it and wrote an article.

[–]suscitare-2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I avoid women with dogs.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Why's that? Just curious.

[–]thedarkerside5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Girls with dogs are great. Just look at how they treat the dog and you have a pretty good idea about their personality.

I still remember a few years ago sitting in a coffee shop working as a girl comes in with her critter. Let's ignore that pets aren't allowed in the store, she ignores it. Puts the dog down, orders something and while waiting the dog decides to shit all over the floor. When she notices she exclaims: "Oh, s/he had diarrhea all day." in a tone that made it clear that she thought it was perfectly fine for the dog to shit all over the shop. When the workers handed her paper towels she first scowled at them but then realized that everybody else was just giving her the stink eye, so she cleaned it up all the while muttering how she shouldn't need to do that.

And I have observed similar things with other "mommys". All I can say: If they treat their dogs like this: Run like hell.

[–]watersign1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

In the comments section:

It's about priorities: 1. All women want the best, a.k.a. Brad Pitt. If they can't get that they will choose the next best thing which is.....
2. A man with $$$$$ If that doesn't pan out then they will get....... 3. A small dog.

sad, funny and true

[–]Kombaiyashii-1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What's sad is that the product of the pet industry means they have to exterminate many healthy animals in order to please a few entitled people. I'm not an animal rights activist by any means but I just hate peoples ignorance over this.

[–]suscitare-1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

My (female) next door neighbour has two yapping dogs; drives me insane.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Nothing a few chocolate treats can't fix.

[–]Nemester0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

lol

[–]CrazyForYouToo-4 points-3 points-2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I wonder which breed is best at pussy-licking? C'mon. You know it happens more often than they'd have you believe. I see nothing wrong with it, understand, but the thought of it does spark a bit of intrigue.

[–]ConfusedNooblet-2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Frankly I want to punch people who show me pictures of their cute dogs.

[–]writeonbrother-3 points-2 points-1 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

In a way this makes me sad. The life experiences and its measures made possible only through the refining of patriarchy have not just been overturned but diminished to absurdity by the "fairer sex." I have hope, however. Nature always corrects.
