And this is why I barely bother with black girls. Plenty of them are attractive, but long hair is too important to me, and most of them don't want to go through the work. Which is fair enough on their part, so long as they don't give me shit for not wanting to date them.
But let's be honest here, a whole lot of women think that they are entitled to male attention regardless of any individual male's preferences.

And that's the wonderful thing about this sub. You have an opinion? That's ok and we're not going to ostracize you. I prefer long-haired women. A lot of my friends prefer long-haired women. It's ok if you prefer short haired women.
TRP is a toolbox. This particular post is the 'tool' of understanding that "girls with short hair are damaged." If you need this tool, take it. If you don't, don't.

This is by far the absolute stupidest fucking article i have ever seen posted here. Some people have preferences that don't concern you. Not every goddamn action or choice by a woman is made as a reaction to men. Maybe they themselves just prefer it? Why in the fuck do you care??
All women know that men prefer long hair over short, so when a woman does get a short haircut, she is essentially giving the middle finger to men. In response, nothing short of a middle finger back at her will do.
This is so. Fucking. Stupid. Might as well be fucking saying...
All women know that men prefer girls wearing pink, so when a woman does wear another color besides pink, she is essentially giving the middle finger to men. In response, nothing short of a middle finger back at her will do.
[+]2jagrmeister721 -8 points-7 points-6 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
In my experience, the only men who prefer women with short hair are the same ones who prefer women having some muscle definition and other traits which make me think there is some latent homosexuality going on. And don't forget that men are subliminally influenced by Hollywood too; when they see a hot girl on screen with short hair (even if she would look even better with long hair) they develop attractions they carry with them off-screen.
[–]Terminal-Psychosis -4 points-3 points-2 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Of course with any statistic there will be that tiny % of outliers.
Just like not all men are gay, not all men prefer women with short hair.
On the whole though, it is a realistic phenomenon, well backed up by science. These preferences are built into the majority of men's genetics / DNA.
[–]lulsause00 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Who the fuck is arguing that?
As I said:
Not every goddamn action or choice by a woman is made as a reaction to men. Maybe they themselves just prefer it? Why in the fuck do you care??
[–]Terminal-Psychosis 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I'd say men care because of the fact that we prefer women to wear their hair long. Also, it is for a woman's benefit too, and men care about women (that are worth it).
If women are looking for men as partners, it seems like a pretty important fact, wouldn't you say? I think most girls aren't even aware of this biological truth. I care about women, and I want them to benefit from this scientific finding.
It does women no good to ignore it. If you do, obviously, there are consequences (most men will find you less attractive). If a woman is willing to live with that, so be it.
Still, WHY anyone would want to be less attractive is an interesting question. The author of this article may have put it rather bluntly, but if you put your anger aside for a moment you might notice a few very good points made.
[–]CrypticMouse 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
But not every single thing that women feel, do or say is a direction reflection how they think about men.
Why is that so hard to understand?

I doubt it.
[+][deleted] -7 points-6 points-5 points 12 years ago* (4 children) | Copy Link
It's taking it a bit far to say that any woman that gets her hair cut short is damaged. But I simply don't buy a heterosexual man preferring short hair to long hair on a woman - at least one that's being honest with himself.

[+]Modredpillschool -33 points-32 points-31 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Even if you had a short hair fetish, this article does demonstrate quite clearly that women know most men prefer long hair. Cutting of the hair really is a middle finger to male preference. I would say it's embracing flaws to be more selective, in the same way that women brag about being narcissistic on their dating profiles.
Anyway, either way you look at it, you're basically telling us you have a preference for chicks who are likely to be more aggressive and less pleasant.
[+]RandianHero -7 points-6 points-5 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I have a preference for chicks who pick a style that looks best on them. Sometimes, that's short. Other times, it's long. And since I'm not such a pushover that a woman's attitude really affects me one way or another, I can take an aggressive woman or a passive woman and not care either way. Ultimately, I'm the one in charge, so why would I give a shit how she acts? She knows her place.
[+]Endorsed ContributorInvalidity -19 points-18 points-17 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Well that's the problem then isn't it? If a female is reaching a point at which shorter hair starts to look better on her, she likely has other physical features that are weighing her down.
As an example, I know a female with a much rounder face who does not look good with longer hair. The problem in this example is not so much in her hair anymore as it is with her facial features.
[+]pillburt -25 points-24 points-23 points 12 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Gillian Anderson: short vs long

That's a good try. Certainly, all those women are pretty hot either way.
Do you really think short Keira Knightly looks better? I completely disagree.
I think the short Carrie Mulligan looks a little better only because in her long picture, her hair is unkept. This is a better long hair photo of her - do you still prefer the short?
In the Gillian Anderson short photo, she's younger and her facial expression is more attractive in some ways. Even so, that one is very close.
[–]pillburt -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I just can't get past Gillian's facial expression in the short hair version. I've never found this look to be attractive in models, I never know why they aim for this sterile aggressive disinterested look, but they always do it.

Relaxed face (or eyes slightly wide) and locking gaze. It's supposed to look like she's aroused. Disinterested would be looking away. Aggressive would be squinting.

what can be said about guys that grow their hair long enough to look like a woman?
It's not that short hair "looks like a man" so simply reversing the gender doesn't make it parallel. The issue is that long hair is attractive to men because it signals fertility, so cutting it is saying, "screw you, you can't know this about me. Deal with it." I don't think that men have the power to make political statements to or about women with their appearance.
Males signal status (a proxy for resources), not fertility. So, something that might be parallel would be a male announcing that he will never get married. Or a male announcing that he will only marry with a prenup.
Imagine an article on feministing titled, "men who wont get married are damaged."
[–]pillburt 15 points16 points17 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Men can only really make political statements with their looks if they're opting out of the role of men entirely. (rainbows and leggings)
[–]cooledcannon 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
So, something that might be parallel would be a male announcing that he will never get married. Or a male announcing that he will only marry with a prenup.
I dont think thats really parallel at all. There are many benefits to avoiding marriage, and prenups, but barely any to short hair.

Maybe I'm hamstering, but long hair isn't necessarily less masculine, e.g. thor.
[–]thecajunone 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Vikings, Mongols, samurai's, native Americans. Many cultures actually saw long hair in men as a sign of spiritual health and vitality.
[–]2johnnight 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
Easy:
If your facial features are highly masculine, long hair will look fine, like a Viking. If your facial features are soft, you gonna look like a goddamn tranny.
The reverse goes for facial hair. A beard will turn your young cute face into sexy manly. A beard will make your old masculine face into grandpa masculine.
Conclusion: long hair and facial hair are controllable features which can steer the face back into a sexy masculine optimum.
Edit: got nothing on long hair. On facial hair:

you would be really amazed at the amount of female attention my hair gets me.
i find women have a tendency to notice uncommon things. it's a unique trait in my appearance that sets me apart from most men where i live, so it's kind of a draw for some girls. plus it feels nice to have a girl wind a bit of it around her finger to play with when we're cuddling after sex.
as for how it actually looks, i don't really care. i have well-defined facial features and am quite tall, with a pretty high level of fitness. if short hair would make my looks "better" to women it doesn't matter to me, since i've wanted it my whole life. i'm not changing a major part of myself just to satisfy a few shallow women. i believe that would be beta behavior now, wouldn't it?
[–]SovereignsUnknown 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
well, then you have your experience and i have mine. in my experience, i get significantly more attention when my hair is long. it also may have to do with the fact that i AM a performing musician, so it's part of the "look."
it's also probably a bit of confirmation bias on my part since many of the women i'm attracted to prefer men with long hair. perhaps if i was attracted to different demographics i'd get different results. as far as i'm concerned, RP theory allows for all sorts of different behaviors so long as you do what works for YOU.
one big reason i like the ideology is because outside of it's absolute core it's so malleable, yet doesn't suffer from many of the issues other "less defined" ideologies can have. the red pill is never something anyone buys into 100% IMO

I look better and have more confidence with longer hair. As a man, it's my right to keep my confidence high with disregard of what other's say unless their opinion holds weight to me. I am a bodybuilder, so having longer hair is strange in what I do - however it works for me.
I will suggest, if you do have long hair, keep that shit well kept.

My preference for longer hair shows an obsession for power and that i'm prone to being abusive?
It's funny, I looked through your posts and saw that you post in BDSM.
But yeah, I'm the one who wants to dominate others with abuse with my power.
Edit: Further investigation of your history reveals you also post in r/sex. In Said sub reddit you indicate you are a woman. The fact that you are into BDSM and a woman and criticizing men for wanting control shows a Red Pill theory.
That you are a hamster. Its humbling when a RP theory is backed by conclusive evidence.
Abusive? Possibly from the newly short-haired woman's side.
I'd not necessarily call it Abuse, but it is a sign of lack of respect / interest in the relationship.

I fully agree. It is my preference, and if I have a problem with her hair, or anything about her, it is my responsibility. If she chooses to ignore what I like, directly go against it even... well then what does that mean?
When she knows I like long hair, and chooses to hack hers off, then her only 'problem' is me moving on to a girl that is more pleasing to me. At that point I don't think she would find that problematic at all. She obviously is not very interested in a relationship with me anymore. Ouch. Sigh. Time to move on.
She has every right to her preferences in men, I have every right to my preferences in women.
The thing is, MOST men prefer long hair. This is a scientifically proven fact. It is in our genes. Women that ignore this fact do so to their own detriment (it is bad for them).

To me short hair is the ultimate test of a woman's true facial attractiveness. A $100 haircut will increase the attractiveness of any average looking girl. But true femininity can't be bought.

For some reason I'm attracted to bitchy girls who have attitude. Past 3 girls who I was interested in all had short hair. It all makes sense now. My ex always claimed to be suffering from depression and anxiety. The other two had short hair and though they didnt express depression or anxiety, they sure as hell acted crazy enough that I thought something wasn't all there.
Edit: also they would dye their hair or cut it shorter whenever something traumatic was going on in their life.

Lol, this reminds me of my first girlfriend from highschool and how she wanted to cut her hair short and I made it known that I didn't think she could pull it off. She didn't get hair cut short, and I'm glad for that, as I do believe some girls can look good with a short haircut and others cannot, and she couldn't. The older (30+) short haired women I know are either masculine career types who dread the high-maintenance of a feminine appearance, butch moms who are tired of kids pulling on theirs or women who aren't trying anymore (romantically).

im not white knighting shit im just saying not all guys like long hair, i guess it could be compared to a fetish, like the same way some guys like feet and others don't. also, i cant really confirm but i would assume that not all girls cut their hair short because their damaged, it depends on what sort of world they grew up in, when the whole pixie cut thing started and it was weird and an anomaly to see a girl with short hair, yeah it probably was because they were trying to "essentially give the middle finger to men" and over time that just progressed into women saying they don't need men because they are just as capable as them, or feminism. now, i don't think all girls get their hair cut short because they don't like men, they like the idea of "equality" (except for any limitations such as strength, nah they can't be equal because women are weaker, but its not their fault, so it should be in their favor!!) and it snowballs from here, short hair for women becomes more and more common, and now younger girls are just doing it to look like their idols, and its rarely even about men anymore. basically at the start you were right, it was to fuck with guys, then it was to become like the "more powerful" women who don't need guys, then it was just to be like their idols.
fuckin human evolution is weird

living up to society's standards isn't important enough to me to motivate me to read a book, i live up to my own standards and the standards of those around me. and to the people around me, what i do in the bedroom doesn't make a bit of difference, neither does my sexuality.
one of the most masculine, confident, intimidating, intelligent men i know, whom i have looked up to since i was a kid because he had his shit together, had any and every girl he wanted and a fuckin wife who joined him and had kids who are growing up to be just as accomplished as himself. basically, he is like the person everyone on /r/trp is trying to be, and about 2 years ago i found out why he will occasionally call his wife "massa T" i just assumed it was because her name was teresa, then i found out massa is just another way of saying master, yeah, my idol, the type of person who everyone on this sub wants to be/is is the fuckin sub in the bedroom. but the thing is it doesn't fucking matter how he fucks he is still the same person, so i just sort of stopped giving a shit about sexuality/gender identity because you can still be a "man" even if you like dick.

You are male but you are not masculine. There are plenty of effiminate males and there's nothing wrong with that.
[–]Endorsed Contributorgekkozorz 10 points11 points12 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Of course outliers exist. But, here's the thing about outliers: they're outliers.
Suppose you make widgets for a living. Suppose, furthermore, that 95% of all people prefer blue widgets to orange widgets. Assuming you prefer having more money to not having more money, you'd paint your widgets blue, would you not? Why would you paint them orange to please the outliers? That doesn't maximize your profit.
When girls get boyish short-cut styles, they're doing exactly that. They're ignoring the fact that 95% of people like blue widgets, and painting them orange.
That makes no friggin sense.
[–]derpfluxx 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
if there was one girl, yeah, but there are tons of them, and lets say that 100% of girls have long hair, and all the guys who like long hair are suddenly taken, now all there are left is the outlying men, and if a girl cut her hair short suddenly there is a whole new selection of guys to choose from. also, some attributes go together, like a guy who likes short hair might also be the sub in the relationship, or just might act more feminine in general, and if a girl is looking for that in a guy to date they might cut their hair to adapt.
[–]SneakyTouchy 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It makes sense to me.
For some women, more profit doesn't equal more profit. I wouldn't be surprised if they choose to express a lesser value to discourage the dogs.
For the rest, they are seeking a fantasy that is projection of hidden value they never had to begin with. The wondrous self-destructive tendencies of misogynistic feminism always bring a smile to my face, at least one corner.

It well known I have a problem with short hair. Im that guy that will say anything, anywhere, anytime, especially if I get challenged. (I have said this multiple times with girls with short hair in the convo) Anytime this comes up and someone says anything about short hair. It goes like this, its even better if there is a girl with short hair present, short hair is a cop-out, no question, whenever a girl cuts her hair short my next question is whats next? A 70's bush? Putting on weight? I mean really whats next? Never had any push back that I can remember. Maybe once but I went on an explosive rant about lesbians and soccer moms (that had quit) and that was the end of that convo

They want to be the unspoken voice that speaks on behalf of a minority of men.
Feminine characteristics attract men. I don't like butch women. I don't like women with deep voices. I don't like hairy women. I don't like women with ghetto personalities.
And just as much, longer hair is very feminine.
[–][deleted] 15 points16 points17 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
I think it depends on facial features at the end of the day. Carey Mulligan did not look feminine with long hair at all. Especially when it was dark. She looked mousey and stuffy, like a librarian. She looks a lot more youthful and feminine with short hair, but she's one of the few. Even Emma Watson can't pull off short hair.
[–]Endorsed ContributorInvalidity 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah, facial features of course take precendence over hair anytime.
Whether or not Maria Shriver has long hair or not, her facial features will always make her look like a predator.
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I don't get the Emma Watson thing. Why do redditors insist in treating a fairly iffy 7 as if she were a 9?
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It's the nerd thing. She acts in nerdy movies and a lot of them grew up with harry potter so she's hot to them.
Its weird mimicry, which even i dont understand. Even back when i was pathetic enough to look up to hot girl celebrities, i sitll didnt look up to anything less than a 9, regardless of how many people did.
I still reckon Carey looked way better long
[–][deleted] 8 points9 points10 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Yeah, if I earn high income, I can gamble away half of my income and still have more money than the average person. So technically, I still have enough money to create an above average lifestyle and have the status that money brings. But what does gambling away half of my money say about my psychology? Do you want your sister or daughter to marry someone who gambles half of his income away? He might be perfectly fine, but the chances that something is wrong with him are far higher than with a normal person. A woman would be better off dating a guy with half his income but doesn't gamble.
When you are dealt a winning hand in life, you are expected to cash in, not discard it. When someone choose to discard their advantage, you have to wonder what other irrational things they will do. Is she making a political statement or pushing feminist agenda? Is that agenda going to be more important than me (I don't want to date someone who puts these types of agenda ahead of me)? Is she going to be one of those crazy moms who dresses her sons up as girls and her daughters up as boys just to make a point? Maybe not, but why take the risk? It's the same reason why people who get tons of facial tattoos and don't dress professionally to a job interview is far less likely to get the job. That is exactly what happens when a girl cuts her hair and gets a masculine haircut.
People can argue all they want about whether it is right or not, but people act based on correlations. If you wear a police uniform, people may mistaken you for being a cop. When a woman cuts her hair, she is sending a very specific signal, whether that is her intent or not. And if she is socially unaware of what signal she is sending, then she is just not that bright when it comes to social dynamics (and people typically don't like socially awkward).

This is worthy of a post in an of itself, as it applies to everyone. If you are blessed by genetics / circumstances to have some sort of gift, talent, or advantage... you can do it justice or you can piss it away. It's your choice what you do, but if you want to feel pride in yourself (as well as earn the respect of other high status people) then you should do justice to that gift.
I have more respect for the pretty girl who busts her ass with fitness and "female appearance game" than the girl who is drop dead beautiful, but cutting her hair, dressing like a fat feminist, and already showing signs of aging due to poor diet, alcohol, etc.

I think that that last part saves your argument - the acknowledgement that this is a broad generalization, and that while there are women that do not fit this generalization, they are a minority.
[–]2jagrmeister721 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
They are. They miss the point which is that woman would look gorgeous with long hair, even if she looks good with short hair.
[–]lulsause00 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
I'd rather argue against the fact that a cosmetic feature or a personal preference in no way gives you total insight to that's person's character, that's what's fucked with this article.
Let's just start saying that
People with tattoos are criminals.
Anyone who wears glasses is a nerd.
Everyone who browses reddit is an ultra liberal pussy.
Anyone who enjoys Dane Cook has a severe mental disability.
the last one is true
Its a good generalization. Likely better than the examples you said, but those examples are still okay to have at first(obviously, change your mind when you know someone more)
You're an idiot. This isn't a 'cosmetic feature' -- this isn't the shape of an eye or a nose or a face. This is a hairstyle, and that is a choice.
If you are actually so completely fucking stupid as to think that the choices we make reveal nothing about our character, they it's not even worth explaining to you why you are wrong. Anyone capable of understanding that would have seen the flaw in their logic the moment they reread their comment.
[–]lulsause00 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
First of all, calm down dude. Second of all:
Cosmetic:
adjective
3. serving to beautify; imparting or improving beauty, especially of the face.
4. used or done superficially to make something look better, more attractive, or more impressive: Alterations in the concert hall were only cosmetic and did nothing to improve the acoustics.
Thirdly: Calm down

The point of having short hair is to be unappealing to the vast majority of men, maybe to find a man who can see past femininity cues, to see her inner self rather than her outer self.
[–][deleted] 9 points10 points11 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I agree with it being a possible red flag for an attitude that a boyfriend/husband isn't entitled to the best of her beauty. And I agree that girls who look good with short hair are likely to look good with any hair.
But I think some women do look beautiful with short hair that's styled to suit their face. For example, this haircut scene in Roman Holiday turned Audrey Hepburn from a pretty enough actress, if a bit skinny and gawky, into the Audrey Hepburn that the world knew and loved.
But the best of both worlds is long hair that's pinned up to be short during the day and is let down when she chooses to let her hair down.
[–]otiswild 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Truth.
Roman Holiday has Ms. Hepburn with both long and short hair, and the short hair works better for her elfin features and waifish feature.
Except that Audry Hepburn, as cute as she was with chopped hair, looked 500% better with long hair.
Not even a contest. Who cares what people are 'use to' seeing, what ACTUALLY looks better is what counts. She looks better with long hair.
I do like it when chicks keep their long locks under wraps except in the bedroom. That's a sign she is chaste.

I can say I've NEVER met a guy that said "I love chicks with short hair". Ever.

Thanks for posting, I've never thought about it before. Maybe because I was never really that attracted to short haired chicks.

[–]SovereignsUnknown 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link
i'm pretty attracted to short hair, which is strange considering i have hair down my back and i'm a man.
though, i have a very specific "type" and that type tends to look good with short hair. it's one of those things where if a normal girl has it it's kind of meh, but when the RIGHT girl has it you bloody know. i've had that detail alone change my opinion of a girl from a 7 to a 9. likewise, i've seen some girls with short hair and been like "aww jesus no, why even?"
but yeah, on the type of women i'm primarily attracted to, i prefer short hair. in the end it's all preference and mine is admittedly weird so i won't claim to be a majority. i do, however, think Return of Kings is a shitty click-bait site that no one should take seriously. they're just trying to stir stuff up and all the white knights here are just doing exactly what the writers want
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
Can you describe your type? Just curious.
I don't lurk around RoK, just read some of the linked content, but I see what you mean. Can't get revenue if no one clicks, right?
[–]SovereignsUnknown 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
prepare to be somewhat weirded out, but i prefer girls who are under 5'3, 105 pounds or under, so really petite. blue or green eyes helps, along with red or dark hair. smaller chests, but noticeable hips. i'm not terribly attracted to asians or black people, so i guess being white is important too.
as for appearance stuff they can control, i dislike too much makeup and prefer when they dress in an "alternative" way (plaid skirts with leggings, boots, tank tops or t-shirts). also i have a weird thing for jean shorts and sweatpants.
so, in short: petite women with noticeable curves, short hair, small chests and natural red or black hair. dressing like a bit of a punk is nice. i said i was weird
[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
Not weirded out at all. I think I know the type you're describing. I've seen a few like that, that I've found pretty attractive. It's funny that one in particular was pretty RP and knew it (just not by label). She told me when we were just texting that the reason she backed off was because I talked to her too much and she's not into guys that are into her. At the time I was like wtf is wrong with this girl. Like everything else, now it all makes sense.
[–]SovereignsUnknown 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
haha well, if you got her in the end that's kinda all that matters.
i've sort of specialized my game to work on that "type" since there's often a personality that goes with it. it's kind of a russian roulette deal where half of them are borderline personality narcissists and the other half are amazing people. before i took the red pill i used to end up with the first kind a lot.
personally i've found that the main thing that really works is making them feel safe with you. they usually have histories of being picked on or home issues or whatever so there's usually trust issues, so if you can build up an environment where you're "alpha"and dominant but still make them comfortable with you, you're set. my most recent ex and i ended up breaking up because she's a very manipulative tease, and when i "beat her at her own game" with RP tactics she went fucking crazy. it's a nice feeling to say that i broke up with an 8/10 for being too attracted to me aha
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Not trying to bust you out, but reading about your crazy manipulative ex, seems like you still pull a lot of the really crazy ones in contrast to saying you used to. If you did follow the game you would've nexted her before becoming your gf. Seems like you got to screen them more stringently using other cues if you choose to ignore short hair as a red flag.
If they have a history of being picked on, I think the proper term is a push/pull to use on it. What kind of a chick cuts their hair short???? Well, as long as there's enough to hold onto ;). YMMV
[–]SovereignsUnknown 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
i've had a history of pulling crazies, yeah. it's become much better now, but the most recent one was something of a stealth crazy. she didn't start throwing up the red flags until after i'd "screened" her and once they started showing up it was a one-stop train to nextville.
also there is too short, not being able to hold onto it is no fun at all. i like it more in the range of what is considered "long" on an average man, not super short
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

[–]WhitePhillip 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
I love chicks with short hair. I shaved a girls hair and then I came on her head.
The real reason I like girls with short hair is that I like watching when I get my dick sucked. Long hair on a woman is like going to a play and they never bring up the curtain, they just put on the show behind it.
I prefer a pixie cut with just enough to grab hold of. Short hair also lets me know if a girl actually has a beautiful face from a longer distance. I don't have to bother walking up to a beautiful pair of blonde curtains to find out she's busted underneath.
Short haired girls are still feminine and will continue to be feminine as long as feminine behavior is rewarded. (Source: lots of short haired girls.)

what are you crazy? thats when you gather all her hair together and hold it back. Thats just what you do. Now that I think about it I really like holding a girls hair back so she can get some work done
[–]WhitePhillip 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
What you're really saying here is that you like her hair our of the way and you like to hold on to it. Then as long as you have enough to hold on to isn't that enough? You're already clearing your visual path.
When I don't have to hold a girls hair I can do anything else I want with my two hands while I get head. I can play with titties, finger pop, drink a beer, smoke, change the channel, ANYTHING!
This is an awesome response
Not really. He's a very passive head-getter is all I got out of this.
I mean, seriously, I'm always holding the girls hair when she's sucking my dick.
I thought it was funny the way he said it.
I've never seen outside of online, where a lot of men will proclaim this preference to get accolades from feminist women (as they are almost certainly doing below). I've seen men lie about it to girlfriends who just cut their hair short.
Personally, I leave a girl who gets her haircut above the shoulder, and if they ask about it before hand, I tell them that. To me, it is an indication that they no longer care about me being attracted to them and that they are starting to take me for granted. So I walk.
Not sure why the downvotes to you. You didn't generalize men by saying all men, and you expressed a hard preference that you won't compromise on.

Back in ye olde blue pill days of yesteryear, an article like this would have had me all a'flutter. A correlation between hair length and mental health? Preposterous! Inconceivable!
And then I got a little bit wiser to the ways of the world, and, dagnabbit, I'll be darned if my life experiences didn't echo this very belief. All short hair women I've ever had the pleasure or displeasure of knowing were, inexplicably, damaged goods by an order of magnitude when compared to those with longer locks! While that is most certainly an anecdotal recollection and I know of no formal study on the matter, I can see where from Mr. Tuthmosis is coming. Well, long, well died hair (please no dry frizzy ends) is best of course...
If that is too much though, personally I prefer long & natural (even with streaks) over short & dark.
I'm just one man though, and some guys here are actually trying to argue FOR short hair, so it's good to be picky about what opinions you give importance.
I'd love to see a study done on the colored / natural question! I suppose the bottom line is, keep your hair as attractive as possible for your target group, with the energy you can budget for it. What exactly that 'attractive' is... ? This needs more study.
Here is an interesting article on long / short hair if you are interested:
Why do Men Prefer Long Hair? <-click
Research has demonstrated that there is an evolutionary reason for men to prefer long hair to short hair on women. According to evolutionary theory, features considered attractive by the opposite sex serve as indicators of reproductive fitness. Experiments and observations have demonstrated that a woman's hair plays a major role in how men rate a woman's attractiveness. The quality and length of hair serves as a marker of genetic strength and overall health. Several studies have demonstrated that men find women with medium-length to long hair more attractive than shorter haired counterparts. Men also rate longer haired women as healthier and fitter than shorterhaired women.
[–]Terminal-Psychosis 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Why do Men Prefer Long Hair?
I fully agree with these scientific findings. Now, why women would choose short styles is another question.
Crazy? Troubled? Possibly. Misinformed? Absolutely. It would benefit humanity if more women were clued in to the biological reality that longer hair is more attractive.
They will go against the best advice if it doesn't suit them anyway, they are women, but it would be good if this fact was taught in biology class or at least home ec.

[–]Terminal-Psychosis 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
It is not subjective at all. It is a scientific fact. Most men prefer women to have long hair.
It is baked into our DNA. Long hair (in women) is a sign of health and therefore fertility. The VAST MAJORITY of men find it the most attractive.
[–]SexualStrategist 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
DNA isn't equal for all beings, man. Reproduction with women is baked into our DNA, yet there are many guys who prefer sucking dick. Survival is baked into our DNA yet many people commit suicide. Nourishment is baked into our DNA yet people have eating disorders. The human brain is complex and has the capability to overrule human instincts.
The 'many guys' you are talking about are such a tiny minority as to be insignificant.
On the whole, men prefer long hair and we are talking about what it means when women do the opposite of what most of us actually like.

The issue was never about short haired women being unnatractive, that would be ridiculous. The article touches on the other aspects that short hair on women may imply - masculinity, emotional distress, lack of feminine identity etc.

The truth of the matter is that long hair’s almost universally attractive to men, when they’re actually speaking honestly (without trying to appease women in the room). Furthermore, it’s a symbol of youth, femininity, and health.
I would certainly beg to differ. And that is what the article says. And that is not the point of my statement. Nor is that what the original poster of the comment above trying to say too.
Are you actually analyzing any of these arguments or are you taking headlines word for word?
And one sentence after your quote it says:
Women instinctively know this, which is why every American girl who cuts, and keeps, her hair short often does it for ulterior reasons.
And then the final line of the article:
Not only is short-hair unattractive, it’s one of the biggest signals a man can get that a woman is damaged beyond repair. There’s no such thing as “pulling it off.”
This article isn't dealing in generalities or majorities, it's dealing in absolutes.

I can tell you from my own personal experiences that nearly all the girls I have met who have lopped off their hair have done so after a breakup or a divorce. Older women generally do so to reduce the amount of maintenance required on their hair.
When I posed the question, "Do you think longer hair or shorter hair looks more attractive on a woman," I have unanimously received a vote for longer hair. This was a sample of about 12 different females ages ranging from 16 to 45. It may not be satisfactory for you but it can serve up a pretty decent hypothesis to test.
What this tells me is that women prefer longer hair. Women generally deem longer hair on a woman as being more attractive (they agree though that there are certain females out there who do not look better with longer hair, usually because of other facial features). When asked why they would cut their hair short, the answer was essentially everything mentioned above. Not one female mentioned that it was a middle finger to mankind... but who do you know would answer a question like that? I do not personally know any dark triad females.
If you read it in a literal sense, you would believe the article is telling you that females are damaged physically. Doesn't make any sense. But if we were to say that short hairs signifies that a woman is experience some sort of emotional trauma or "scarring" that would make more sense. And that is what I took from the article.

You're arguing on the possibilities instead of a solid preference. On any given day at any given moment, the majority of men have a marked preference for longer hair.
You're also specifying what she thinks about her level of attractiveness with regards to her hair. How can you judge a man's preferences based upon what she thinks would attract men?
Granted, long hair can cause unsightly problems, but well maintained hair is the key here. We can make all sorts of cases for bad hair, but that takes away from the point. If we compared the same hair issues in a woman with long hair and short hair, I can without a doubt believe that the long hair would receive a better response.

And the only contribution you have made to this subreddit is sharing your adventures with a woman way past the wall.
I realize you're an emotional being, but you'd do well to control them.

Haha, I am going to assume you play video games and you probably behave like this in team games. I've run into a lot of people like you. The second people don't agree with you, you start throwing a tantrum, trying to be the loudest so that you can try and intimidate people. For the most part though, it's adorable but people realize it's childish.
It's quite clear that Redpill philosophy does not align with your ideals and views. So what exactly are you here for? Are you here to change people's views? Are you here to rant? It's perfectly fine to do either.
Trying to tell me I am still plugged in is the equivalent of telling me I have a small penis even before you have seen it (but no, I will not show you even if you ask, unless you are an attractive female).
You're trying to tell me he isn't being emotional? That he is intellectually making a statement? Do you guys accept the redpill or are you here to troll?
I do not care what his preferences are but I only speak to the fact that long hair is a sign of virility and femininity and that it is in fact a more desirable quality.
I never said long hair is objectively better.
Hair length can be a preference, but if we polled the entire male population of the world, I am certain that long hair is more preferable amongst that sample.
You're telling me that I am generalizing my opinions based on his preferences and my own but I am expanding the scope to this entire world.
Are you telling me that you believe that of all the men in this world, the majority of preferences is short hair?

"Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man."
Some people here need to realize that not all things posted to TRP are going to be fact. If this highly opinionated article gets upvoted any further it will be clear evidence of a growing hivemind.
[–]CrypticMouse 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
TRP claims to be objective.
Objective = fact.
An old lay of mine just broke up with her bf of 5 years. The same day she ran out and shaved the sides of her head, creating this weird looking crazy long Mohawk thingy. Then she bleached the remaining hair and now she looks like a rainbow tarantula squid thing.
It's a damn shame too, if she wasn't so fucking crazy she'd be pretty decent appealing.
Everything in this article lines up with what I've seen in my life. Statistical outliers aside, short haired women are crazy.
Mostly, this is correct. I am convinced of this because of Amanda Marcotte's 'I know men like long hair, so I keep mine short just to stick a thumb in their eye!' opinion piece a few years ago. Or, at least I assume this because of that opinion piece.
Plus short hair looks like shit. I won't date a woman with short hair. She has the right to wear her hair any way she likes, but she doesn't have the right to me as a boyfriend.
[–]Endorsed ContributorInvalidity 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
The reason why a handful of males like girls with shorter hair is because they have generally received better responses from females with shorter hair.
This makes sense because most of the girls that have gotten short cuts were usually fresh out of a relationship and looking to put themselves back on the market right away.
The level of sluttiness in a girl almost always correlated with her hair length.

I believe that's what you said in reply to someone else. You're choosing not to be a dick but you end up doing it anyway.
[–]Endorsed ContributorInvalidity -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You weren't being a dick to tell me to start my thoughts off with "In my opinion..." but to ask me if I'm still plugged in because I expressed my own view points calmly and concisely with another person? Yeah I would have to say that qualifies as being a dick.

Well, well, well. Tuthmosis says it and it's accepted as reality (and I agree with him, by the way). I said the same thing here on The Red Pill and I got a -7 on my post.

"Short hair looks good on practically no chicks. It's the go-to for the "empowered" twat. It is furtherance of the manly nonsense women pull and practically no one likes. Once you're in a relationship there's a good reason for short hair.
I'm tall. Most woman aren't. When I'm on top, I'm usually facing the top of her head. That means her hair is spread out right where my elbows bear down on her pillow. It's very distracting to have her screaming in pain when her hair is trapped by elbows and yanked by our thrusting. If you're energetic or acrobatic in bed, she needs shoulder length or shorter hair.
I like long hair on women when they're open and looking. Short hair is more practical for a fuck partner.
Ponytial, pigtials, bun... get that hair outa there. No reason to chop it all off!

I totally agree with this article. Nice to see this getting people worked up.
But what does this say about men's attraction to short haired women?
Do we spot the underlying vulnerability?
Are certain types of men attracted to more aggressive, out there women? If so, do these men also have psychological issues?
Personally, every time I see a short haired chick or one with her sides shaved I always assume her to be an aggressive fuck, and I am aroused by aggressive women in bed. Am I damaged?
I think Invalidity put it very well...
Basically, if a man has had success (sex) with women that had short hair, it can make an impression and he will seek out that type again.
Also, there are men that are (still) attracted to 'problem cases' for whatever personal reasons.
I think Invalidity makes a very valid point though.
[–]Endorsed ContributorInvalidity 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
It has been considered and it doesn't change anything. If she wants to chop it off, then let her chop it off. It's not gonna change the way people think.
To put matters into perspective, what do you think of when you see a guy with glasses, unkempt hair, that plays Magic the Gathering? You're thinking, nerd. You form perceptions about him. You make generalizations about him... and you know what? There is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
What you have to understand is that people have these conceptions for a reason. These generalizations aren't just formed out of thin air, it's a collective train of thought and reason and evidence is out there to reaffirm our beliefs. We're not going to assume the guy is a jock who is an expert at Mixed Martial Arts because there have been many before him who have reaffirmed our notions.
And in this particular case, to provide personal evidence to this matter, every female under the age of 30 that I have seen cut their hair short, have almost always gone through either some break up or some divorce. They are in fact attempting to make a statement.

As a wise man once said: "Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man."
Short hair can look good on chicks with tight bodies. If it's not your thing, then it's just not your thing. Example: http://i.imgur.com/7ZMFG.jpg
[–]MSoftHarem 20 points21 points22 points 12 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link
She's attractive (albeit less so) in spite of her short hair, not because of it.
[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
I've come to the conclusion that short haired chicks might be more "attractive" (read: attainable) to betas/omegas by way of gender role switching. The truth - that if a man had his preference, long hair would be preferred - may give way to the signals of what a desperate man may find achievable. Butch women end up with feminine men, feminine men know this, short hair is shorthand for this, QED.
[+]MSoftHarem -12 points-11 points-10 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Exactly. They rationalize the short hair as "no big deal" because they're so enamored with the rest of the package. It screams thirsty low value man with low standards.

Maybe it's just me. I see her as attractive because of her hot little dancer body and her cute face, and the hair is just decoration. She gives me a "come and get it" look, I'm not going to tell her to come back after her hair grows out in six months.
[–]Modredpillschool 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
If you had to choose between identical twins, one was her, and the other was her with long hair?
[–]MSoftHarem 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
You're missing the point. No one is going to kick her out of bed because she has short hair, but I wouldn't date her unless she grew it out. She's purposely lowering her attractiveness whether she realizes or not. This is not a subjective preference. Women with short hair are objectively less attractive than if they had long hair, even if they are still bangable with short hair.
[–]MSoftHarem -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I think you're still living in a BP fantasy land where you think beauty is subjective, it isn't. Beauty is math, and numbers don't lie. A woman with long hair will always be objectively more attractive than if she had short hair. Period.
[–]Senior ContributorDemonspawn 8 points9 points10 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Sure, she looks good (because of her body), but she'd look 100x better with long hair spilling over those boobies.
Has little, if anything, to do with 'your thing'.
This very attractive woman with short hair would look 500% more stunning with LONG hair.
The VAST MAJORITY of men find it so anyway.
Some men prefer short hair like some men are gay. The outliers, statistically speaking, are irrelevant.
[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
nope. Yah she is still pretty, but the hair is a hurdle to jump over, and i assume shes probably pretty abrasive as well.
Edit: obviously, if she came a knockin, i'd let her in. But if she were surrounded by women further down on the scale but who had longer hair, id likely go after them instead.
